Luna makes a face like she’s conflicted or upset by this, and I don’t really get the reaction until a high-pitched voice rises above the rest.

“No, like he was so sweet. The tide came in and got my feet wet, so he picked me up princess-style and carried me to safety,” Savannah says, beaming.

“Oh my gosh,” Kiera replies, awed.

“Honestly, to be expected. Noah is, like, the sweetest guy on the island,” Angel says.

My full attention snaps to them. They clearly clock it and love every moment of it, because Savannah shoots me a mischievous grin before looking back at her girls.

“And then when he kissed me, like, I swear, fireworks.”

All the girls shriek and clap, and before I know what I’m doing, I’m flying across the room.

“What?” I demand.

“What?” Savannah mimics in a bored tone.

“What did you just say?”

“What part?” Kiera asks with a “Can I help you?” bitch face.

“You and Noah kissed? He kissed you?” I clarify.

Savannah side-eyes her girls before blinking at me like I’mslow. “Well, yeah. We’re literally on a reality-TV dating show,” she scoffs.

Shocked is the best way to describe how I’m feeling. Maybe even enraged. Is it misplaced? Maybe. Is it over the top? Definitely. Is it going to make some good fucking TV? You bet your ass.

Chapter Thirteen

Noah

“When Bella started cursing me out in Italian, swear to God I knew she was the one right then and there,” Connor says as he bites his knuckle, like he’s reliving the moment all over again.

I laugh and shake my head as Mason calls out, “Bro, you’re saying you fell for the woman because she was a bitch to you when you didn’t open the door for her?”

Connor cuts him a sharp look. “She’s strong-willed. I like a woman who puts me in my place.”

Dallas laughs. “He likes to be bullied, just say the quiet part out loud, dude.”

Connor smiles like he can’t deny it, and everyone laughs.

“I don’t know why you’re laughing so damn hard, Mason,” Dallas says. “Angel’s nothing close to her namesake.”

Mason shrugs. “She’s hot.”

The guys erupt in cheers, and he’s not wrong. Angel was one of the women I went on a date with today, and she is incredibly beautiful.

“Same goes for Kiera.” Dallas smirks, like he’s accepted beauty instead of personality.

“And Savannah,” Landon chimes in.

That takes me by surprise. He usually doesn’t chime in to the group conversations much. I know a lot of the guys take his attitude like he thinks he’s too good to participate. Hell, maybe that is his intention.

“You’re still locking in with her, right?” Calvin asks.

“Well, yeah. She’s stuck up, but I’m not an idiot,” Landon says with a shrug.

Everyone erupts into laughter, and I notice that one typically loud voice is very quiet, the same guy who was last to come back from the dates. The one I’ve been extremely interested to hear from about how it went. So, not coming up with any sly or subtle way to bring it up, I just ask.
