Lou laughed. ‘I know it’s a lot of fish for two people, but I don’t think it’ll stretch to the whole staff.’

‘I’d get more, obviously. But you’ll be the one cooking it, so it’s up to you. What do you think?’

‘I’d love that.’

‘It’ll be a chance for me to earn back some brownie points, and you can meet the rest of the team at the same time.’

‘Great.’ Lou still hadn’t met some of the people who worked the evening shifts. She opened the fridge and handed Aidan the parcel, but he shook his head. ‘You can still keep that one.’

‘No, take it. I seriously wouldn’t know what to do with it and I’d hate to waste it.’

‘Right. Well, I’d better get back and make sure everyone hasn’t walked out on me already. They all really like you, you know.’

Lou smiled. ‘It’s mutual. You’ve got great people around you.’

‘I know. I do appreciate them, in my more rational moments.’
