“I said we can take it slow if you want, Katelyn,” I remind her. “But I would like to take us somewhere else for the day, maybe the rest of the weekend?” I suggest.

Both of us have been trapped on this campus for far too long, I sure know I have.

“What did you have in mind?” she asks, slipping easily back into the warmth of her bed and finding my warmest parts just as quickly to press up against.

“I dunno… maybe a surprise,” I tease her, wondering if I’m even capable of one.

But that’s not entirely true.

I keep forgetting, when I’m not head coach twenty-four seven, I have a pretty sweet setup in the outside world. I just never use any of it much.

Always seemed dumb to sit in a big empty house with no one to share it with.

“I don’t have a lot of money,” Katelyn says, wincing and pulling a face. As if anything like that matters to me.

“What do you need money for?” I ask her, meaning it.

“Well, I like to pay my own way, that’s all. If we’re gonna stay anywhere or do anything. I wanna pay my fair share,” she says firmly.

Stubbornly.

I let a hand stray to her fine behind, and give it a squeeze until she yelps, I remind her that she’ll have all payment extracted in due course.

“And paid in full,” I warn her, finding her chest and gnawing on a thickening nipple as I groan until she’s softly moaning again.

We’re just about to have a repeat performance of last night when we both stop suddenly.

A heavy knock at her door silencing us both instantly.

I’m not worried, but I can see Katelyn is, she looks terrified.

“Who… who is it?” she calls out after I encourage her to say something.

“Just campus security, Ms. Webster, making sure you made it home safely last night.” A familiar and unwelcome voice says.

Friendly enough, and if I was anyone else I’d say I was grateful for campus security checking so diligently on the students.

But Katelyn’s mine now, and anyone, especially men sniffing around isn’t what I want.

“I’m fine, thanks,” Katelyn chimes, and I figure that should be the end of it, but no.

“Afraid I’m gonna have to see you for myself, Miss. Just to make sure you’re okay,” he says again, firmer this time.

I feel my body tense and I press a finger to her lips, pulling myself up together and going for the door myself.

She hisses for me not to, but it’s too late.

I swing it open just wide enough for him to see me, and look him up and down with hard eyes.

“She said she’s fine,” I growl, watching the guard take a step back before he tries to puff himself up, making himself look bigger.

“Coach Heart, I could say I’m surprised, but I’m not,” he says smugly. “Had a report of you being sighted near here last night and just checked your place… didn’t think I’d find you here. Doing a little after class tutoring?” he asks, tipping the brim of his hat back as he strains to see past me.

“None of your business,” I growl again, closing the door a little further until I feel his foot against it.

Shaking his head, he taps his badge. “Don’t do anything dumber than you already have, coach,” he says coolly.

“Just need to speak with Katelyn a minute, without your say so or being here if need be,” he reminds me, leaving his finger on his badge for me to think about.

Not a real cop, but someone who could ruin the day I have planned, so I decide to let him have his way.

For now.

Katelyn’s got herself dressed and is swift to let the guard know she’s fine.

“I’m helping coach Heart with his computer,” she says sharply, watching the guard eye me up and down again.

“I see,” he says slowly. “You do know the rules about visiting hours, miss. It is a female only dorm too,” he adds, narrowing his eyes again, letting me know he’s not done yet.

“Mr. Heart is just here to walk me back to his office,” Katelyn says, an edge in her voice that tells me she’s just as unhappy about the intrusion as I am.

“And, we were just about to leave,” I almost snarl, forcing restraint but feeling my hands balling into fists.

“Okay, okay, no real harm done. I suppose,” he quips, making sure he gives us both a knowing look before he leaves.

Katelyn closes the door and starts to gather up a few of her things.

“What are you doing?” I ask her.

“Well, I’m not staying here anymore. That guy gives me the creeps. Is he gonna turn up at my room every time I go out or come back?” she asks herself aloud.

It’s made my mind up, for both of us.

“Will you trust me, Katelyn? When I tell you I can make sure we won’t be bothered again?” I ask.
