Chapter Thirty
Steel didn’t wantto spend the night in Pinewood Springs; he was anxious to get back to see Breanna and Chenoa. All of his brothers stayed except for Diablo, who rode back with Steel. The other brothers wanted to spend the night so they could chill out, fuck some new club girls, and talk bikes with the Insurgents.
Doc had done a damn good job patching up Crow and Army, as well as Wheelie and Rags. Crow and Army had sustained superficial wounds that only required some stiches. Crow was already sitting at the bar drinking a shot of whiskey with one of the bar girls, Lola, on his lap.
Steel chuckled as he slapped his brother on the back. “Don’t fucking break open your stiches. I need you back in Alina tomorrow.”
“No problem. This time, I’m gonna let the chick do all the work.” He pulled Lola’s head down and kissed her. “You good with that?”
“I’m good with anything,” she said as she thrust her tits into his face.
Steel shook his head. “Don’t kill my brother here.”
“I won’t. When I’m done with him, I could make you feel real good.” She winked at him.
“I’m fucking sure you could, but I’m outta here. Gotta get home to my woman.” He went over to Diablo, who was talking with Throttle and Hawk. “You ready? I wanna get going.”
Diablo threw his shot back and nodded. “Let’s go.”
Steel turned to Hawk and Throttle. “Where’s Banger?”
“He wanted to get home to Belle and his kids. I’m getting ready to take off too. I just called Cara. I’ve got an ache only she can fill.” Hawk set his shot glass on the bar.
“Kimber’s waiting for me too,” said Throttle. “We’re gonna have to come down and see you. Alina’s close to the Four Corners, right?” Steel nodded. “For some fuckin’ reason my woman wants to put her ass in the four states at once. Fuck if I know why, but that’s what she wants. We’ll probably ride down in the spring.”
“Just let me know when you’re coming. There’s some beautiful rides around the San Juan Mountains. I heard your woman rides her own Harley.”
“Yep. A pink one. I love to watch her ass when I ride behind her.” Throttle wiggled his eyebrows.
Steel sniggered. “Don’t see many women riding. It’s cool. My woman loves holding me too much to give it up, and I like her pressed behind me.” He picked up the shot of tequila Hawk handed him and let the clear liquid slide down his throat. “That was fucking good.” He turned to leave.
Hawk pulled him into a bear hug. “It was epic. We gotta kick ass together more often. I hope things go well with Chenoa,” he said in his ear.
Steel hugged back. “Thanks. Foreverything.” They bumped fists and he and Diablo exited the Insurgents’ clubhouse.

When they arrivedin Alina, it was dark. He met with Paco who’d told him the beat-down of the Skull Crushers went off without a hitch. “I’m sure they won’t be causing us trouble any time soon.” Paco took out two joints and handed one to Steel.
“They won’t be fucking with us at all now that we’ve eliminated the Demon Riders. I wouldn’t be surprised if the pussies didn’t pack up and leave.” Steel lit his reefer and inhaled.
“Sounds like the best thing for them to do, ’cause next time they get in our fuckin’ business, we’ll destroy them. The way I see it is they’ve used up all their cards.” Paco stretched his legs in front of him.
“That’s for damn sure. I’m sick of their shit.” Steel rose to his feet. “I’m gonna go over to Breanna’s. We’ll call church in a couple of days to get all the updates. Hawk’s gonna go through all the computer shit he lifted at the fuckers’ clubhouse. We should know who the local is in a few days.”
“I bet the motherfucker’s gonna take off once he hears about the Demon Riders.”
“I doubt he’s part of the outlaw pipeline. It’ll take a while for the news to travel to the citizens.” He pulled on his black gloves, nodded at Paco, and then stepped out into the chilly autumn air. A huge harvest moon glowed, casting a golden sheen over the tops of the trees. The stars blinked against the velvety black background as he rode to his woman’s house.
The noise from his bike shattered the quiet of Breanna’s neighborhood. He pulled into the driveway and walked up to the front porch. She’d given him a key a couple of weeks before, so he used it and opened her door. The scent of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla curled around him as he walked to the bedroom.
She was sleeping, small noises coming from her nose. Warmth spread through him. She’s so fucking cute.He looked at the blue numbers on the digital clock on the nightstand—1:48 a.m.I’ll call Chenoa in the morning. I don’t wanna wake her.He tugged off his leather jacket and threw it on the chair, carefully laid his cut on the top of the tall dresser, and then undressed. Not wanting to freak Breanna out, he stood over her and softly called her name. She stirred, her eyes finally flying open when he gently shook her.
“Steel!” She bolted up, her face beaming, her arms reaching for him. He climbed on the bed and she peppered his face with kisses, all the while telling him how happy she was to see him.
“It’s been too fucking long, baby,” he said against her lips.
“I know. I missed you so much.”
