Crazy about her.
Chapter 26
Lily
The look Sebastian is giving me right now nearly sends me into cardiac arrest.
There’s so much in those eyes.
The relief is clear.
I was worried about my brother and how he would react to us, but I don’t think my burden compares to the one Sebastian was carrying.
Then there’s the desire that always seems to be humming between us.
On top of that, there’s something more simmering between us.
I don’t dare to say that out loud.
Nearly scared to even think it.
Sebastian’s looking at me lovingly.
And I’m looking right back.
This may have started as a silly crush, but it has quickly grown into so much more.
We make our way to my coach, and Sebastian tells me about the articles about us.
I feel my heart hammering as he shows me the pictures.
We look like any other couple out enjoying their Sunday in London.
Part of me is angry that our moment is splattered across gossip sites.
It’s not right.
Having private moments revealed to the whole world must be exhausting for a celebrity.
I know Luke isn’t too happy about that part of his career, and it certainly created some challenges for him and Jessica early on in their relationship.
So far, they haven’t been able to identify me since the pictures were taken from a distance and you can’t really see my face.
Sebastian runs his knuckles down my face as he tells me that it’s just a matter of time. Knowing the British press, they’ll find out soon enough, and then my name will also be written right next to his.
“I’m sorry about this,” he says, making me grab his hand.
“You have nothing to be sorry about. I’m sorry for you, having to deal with shit like this all the time.”
It doesn’t feel fair.
Guys like Sebastian and Luke never signed up for that kind of life.
They want to live out their athletic dreams.
Not grace the cover of every magazine.
“It’s fine, Lily. I’m used to it. But they’ll probably try to dig up all they can on you. When they find out you’re the brother of Luke Hastings, they’ll have plenty of fuel for their stories.”
