“Oh, yes.Definitely.”

After the dishes were done, and she was ready to settle down for the night, she plopped down on Sebastian’s lap, dislodging the book he’d been reading.

He grinned at her.“Needing some attention?”

Lula giggled.“I sure am.We can start here, but I think it will be better for everyone if we move on to the bed shortly.”

“Sounds like the best idea I’ve heard all week!”He kissed her softly.“I love you with everything inside me, Lula.Thank you for changing my life.”

“And I love you.Thank you for accepting me and my past.”

Epilogue

Three months later, Lula looked out the window first thing in the morning, and all she could see was snow.It looked like a blizzard to her.She smiled happily, knowing it would be the perfect day to tell Sebastian.

He was still sleeping, so she made a hearty breakfast for them both, though she wasn’t certain if hers would stay down.Either way.He deserved a good hot meal.

He woke to pancakes and venison sausage from one of the deer she’d hunted. She served it hot along with a cup of coffee.“I don’t think you’re going to be working today.”

He looked past her to the window, and his eyes widened.“That’s quite a storm. And no, Everett doesn’t expect us to work when we can’t see two feet in front of us.”

He took a bite of the sausage.“Oh, you ladies have the sausage perfect now.Just the right amount of spices.”

“It took some trial and error, but I’m happy with it!”She toyed with her pancake with her fork, half-afraid to eat it, but she was hungry, and she knew she needed the nutrition.Especially now.

She looked up from her food and decided this was the perfect time to tell him, and they could spend the day planning for their future. For the future of their family.“I have something to tell you.”

He paused with his fork halfway to his mouth.“That sounds ominous.”

She smiled, shaking her head.“No, I think this will be a good something.”

“All right...”

“I’m expecting.”Lula watched his face as he processed her comment. They hadn’t talked a great deal about children, but they were both certain they wanted them.

It took him a moment, but his eyes widened.“Really? You’re certain?”
