“Then you might want to check with my dad’s attorney.Bill Monroe,” Spencer informed them.“My dad used to hold money for her in a safe deposit box at his bank.Bill is also on the account and he has the key she needs to get into the box.”
Bane stared hard at him then asked, “And why are you suddenly so helpful now ?”
The room full of men all stared at Spencer.
Chapter Seven
Spencer glared at themall then explained his motives, “This isn’t the first time Miranda tried something like this.When I first started my business, she came to me wanting a piece of it.She claimed she would be a silent partner and she wanted to keep the books for me.My father told me to tell her no.That he knew her ways all too well.When they broke up, he found out she’d emptied the accounts before she left him.He couldn’t get the money back.She left him broke.But my dad rebuilt his business and came out way ahead of her.She even had the audacity to come back once and demanded her fair share or she would take him to court and take me away from him.Well, she tried but when he threatened to bring in all the paperwork from before.So she finally let it go.But she didn’t go far, she watched and waited until the time was right and then she struck.She couldn’t get his business and she found he put safety pins on his money so she went after him personally.She forced him off the road but she did it at the wrong intersection.That one had cameras and she was caught on tape, ramming into his car.Then she disappeared and the cops never caught her.That was five years ago and she’s been in hiding ever since.But you just told me she’s got Lisbon doing her dirty work now.To me, that was the last straw.I hope you find her and nail her damn fat ass to the wall.”
Just then, a red light began flashing on the wall pad by the door.
Bane went to the side wall where he turned on the security screens.
Now they all saw night vision blobs making their way toward the front gate.
Spencer had been watching it too.“I told you my men would come for me and there they are!”He laughed.“If you don’t let me go they will fight their way inside and kill everyone they see.”
Bane glared at the screen then looked back at Spencer.“There’s just one thing that you do not get.”
Spencer scoffed and asked, “And what is that?”
“This is MY house.”As he spoke, he pushed buttons on the security panel.
They all heard loud metallic clicks and large bangs echoing through the house.
“What the hell is that?”Spencer exclaimed.
Bane smirked now as he explained, “Well, along with Genghis and Elvira, I have the Walls of Jericho.”
James snickered.“How fun to have all those friends, Bane.I have to say that all of this has been very enlightening.”
Pappy and the Sins came over to stand behind Bane.
They watched as the men at the gate tried everything they could to get through but they couldn’t do it.The gate and fence sent out an electrifying buzzing sound to tell oncomers that it was a live wire all the way along the property.They shot at the lock but the bullets just ricocheted off the gate.They all had to scatter in order not to be hit by their own ammunition.Then they shot through the gate at the house but heard no sound of glass breaking or the bullets entering the house.
Mountain shook his head then went over to get Spencer down from the hook but then he recuffed his hands behind his back.Spencer fought him all the way but Mountain held him firm with no effort at all.Then he pushed him toward Bane.
