“It smells like death and baking in here,” Halen mutters.

Moving through the dark room, we slip through a door to find two vampires sitting at a table, while a Fury is sucking the life from a young man, pinning him to the wall. Blood coats his arm and neck, making my blood boil.

Not waiting for instructions, I pounce. Before she even senses me, I move, tackling both her and the young man to the floor. He groans in pain while she screeches at me, her teeth bared, eyes wild with rage aimed at me.

I hear my brothers fighting with the vampires, but I keep my focus on this cunt, who is about to join her dead sister.

“You cannot stop us, bloodsucker,” she snaps.

I laugh. “I have stopped one of you so far.”

“Lyra’s blood is on your hands.”

“Yours will be too.” I move, using my unnatural speed to get to her, but she is a powerful supernatural herself.

We collide, her claws digging into my bicep. Ignoring the pain, I strike at her, but she moves at the last second. I lunge again, this time pinning her to the floor. Her body thrashes under my weight, and her hair flaps around, her teeth snapping at me, while her claws make contact with my skin.

I hiss.

I pin her to the floor by her throat, her hands scratching at my arms and neck.

Tightening my grip, her mouth pops open, her air slowly being cut off. She goes wild for a few more seconds before her body loses its fight.

“We need her, brother.” Camo’s voice comes from behind me.

The Fury cackles, her smile filled with blood.

“We will hurt what you love the most,” she mutters.

“Bitch, you won’t touch her,” I snarl in her face.

She laughs again, her eyes showing her mischief and rage.

“BLADE,” is called by the guy she was trying to kill.

I frown, looking at him just as a blade is plunged into my thigh. Snarling, I fall to the side, pulling the blade out and dropping it to the floor. My vision blurs within seconds and I know that something coated the blade.

Fuck.

Reaching for my own dagger, I slam that fucker right into her neck. Everything around me goes quiet, but I see her through blurred vision, thrashing around.

My head hits the tiled floor, and I watch as she dies lying on the cold floor.

“Fuck, brother. We need to get you to the club,” my brother says.

“I need to feed,” I slur.

“We got you, man. Hang on,” Camo says. “Halen, take the boy to the hospital.”

I am lifted off the floor, and both Camo and Oryn carry me out of the building. My feet drag along the floor as I am dragged back to our bikes.

“He can’t ride like this, VP,” Oryn mutters.

“Fuck.” I can feel my body getting heavier by the second.

“I can ride,” I slur, blinking to clear my vision. “Just need to go fast to get there quick.”

“We stay at your side, keeping you upright.”
