His face lights up, his smile wide. “Oh, please, yes. What I would give to be thrown down on the bed and ravished hard and dirty,” Clark gushes, his eyes glassy from the alcohol.

“Be careful what you wish for, man,” Rocky adds, pointing at me. “You might get a vampire like her.”

“I can dream, brother.” Clark winks at the man.

Shaking his head, Rocky finishes his drink.

“Being with a vampire is not as bad as people think. If you overlook all the bad that they have caused in history, see past the folklore that is told, you will see people with strong protective instincts. Someone who will love fiercely but also, they come with plenty of experience.”

“Like worldly experience?” Clark inquires, leaning forward.

“Worldly. And sexually.” I wink at him.

His eyes light up with wonder and he looks to Rocky.

“I need me a vampire man that likes dick.”

“If I remember correctly, most vampires, both male and female, are not single-minded when it comes to their bedmates. They are very highly sexually charged, so as long as they have fun and orgasms, they will sleep with almost anyone,” I add on.

“Has Thorin been with a man?”

“I do not know. I will have to ask him,” I reply with a giggle.

Thinking of Thorin, I could never see him in bed with another man. Maybe in an orgy situation, but never just him and a man. I will have to inquire about that with him.

I will not share him, so that kind of thing will never touch our sex life, and if he pushes for it, then it will be time to walk away completely. I have shared him enough over the years.

It is our time and I will not let anyone stop that from happening.

Thorin

Laughter hits my ears from across the room, and I look over to where Delaney is sitting with Skyla, talking and laughing.

Seeing her looking so carefree does something to my dead soul. My chest tightens seeing her like this, compared to how she looked when she lived here and I was pulling my dumbass shit.

Looking back, I know I hurt her, seeing her light dim from what I did. The pain I caused is something I can never fully erase from either of our memories, but I hope that somehow, in time, I can make amends for it.

“That all it is?” I bring my gaze to Winger as he sits next to me.

I am cleaning blood off a gold goblet with eye-sized rubies embedded in the top. It is something out of anIndiana Jonesmovie.

“Yeah. No idea what is so fucking special about this thing, but whatever floats the fucker’s boat.”

“Rich pricks will do anything for more power and money, brother. They can’t all be like Halen’s family.”

Halen comes from a long line of supernatural people. Both sides of his family are wealthy and powerful, but they use their money and powers for good.

“True.”

We sit in silence for a few beats, Winger scanning the room everyone is currently occupying. Me and some of the boys just got back from a job, taking this thing I am cleaning from a poacher who deserved the blood that got spilled. Who the fuck hunts defenseless animals anyway?

“Your girl good?”

“Yeah,” is all I say.

I know that we need to talk, clear some things up between us, before we can fully move on. She feels it too, this crack between us that needs sealing.
