When I told her that I had to leave for a run to Boston, she almost looked relieved that I was leaving, and that was like a kick to the gut. Not taking no for an answer, I kissed her goodbye. She melted into me, her hands gripping my cut, so I felt some hope from that, but now I feel a twinge in the faint bond between us.

Also, it was Skyla who informed me that Delaney seems to be benefitting from some of my vampire powers, like speed andagility. I will need to push that with her when we get back from the run, which should be later tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on if we get the pixie or not.

I am itching to get on the road already, so we can get this job sorted and I can get back to deal with the issues between Delaney and myself.

We have to collect pixie blood and hair, for what I have zero fucking idea, but it puts money in the bank and that is all I care about. What Delaney does not know is that if anything happens to me, she gets all of my money. Winger knows the banking details and will make sure she gets every cent, including the six-bedroom home I have here in Salem and the townhouse I have in Boston.

“You all know what you have to do. Camo, take Thorin and Halen with you. Rush, take Cotton and Shift to old man Dan, to help him with his flowers.” The men nod.

Dan is an older man, human, who grows flowers, and most think nothing of it, as he owns a flower shop with his daughter. But, what people do not know is that the sneaky fucker turns a lot of his growth into poison and he sells it.

Everyone needs an extra income these days.

“We have a construction company coming to fix the wall today; they have been vetted by Cotton, so everything should be good but still, keep your eyes and ears peeled for anyone doing shit they should not be doing.”

“Will do, Pres. Do we have permission to inflict pain if we see something?” Rush asks, rubbing his hands together, while grinning like a fool.

Shaking my head, I smile at him. He is one fucked-up motherfucker, but he makes a joke of everything, so people always underestimate him. Looking like a model with his dazzling smile and flopping blond hair, who should be on somekind of runway, people see him as a pretty face, but he is cunning.

“Report to me first.” Winger looks at him with a look we know all too well.

“Yes, Sir.” He salutes Pres, who shakes his head.

“Is there anything else that needs to be brought up?”

Winger looks around at each member at the table, his gaze lingering on mine, making me stiffen slightly.

“Your girl good?” Running my tongue over my teeth, I fucking knew he would bring her up, just to put me on the spot. They have seen the ice queen act she is throwing my way.

“She is good.” I sit up straighter in my seat. “I told her everything, and she did not like what I had to say.” I shrug it off.

“Everything? Surely Delaney would understand your reason,” Cotton says.

“You must have fucked up somewhere. Del, she has only ever wanted to know the truth?” Camo adds.

“I do not know what you want me to tell you. I told her all of my past. Ophelia. Olwen, coming here, everything.” I shrug, but when I say her name, they all sit up straighter.

“Brother, did you confess to wanting to turn Olwen?” This comes from Halen.

“I didn’t need to. She guessed.”

“Shit.”

“Fucking hell, no wonder she is pissed at you,” Oryn snaps.

“Do you now see why she is angry with you? You fell in love with a fucking human, and was planning on turning her into a vampire, so you could spend the rest of your life with her,” Camo adds, making me angry.

“Fuck off, brother. You should have my back on this. You knew what the hell I went through and what she went through. How the fuck could I tie her to me after that?”

“You fucking support and love her, you cunt,” he growls. “Remember who the fuck you are speaking to, motherfucker.”

“I thought I was speaking to a brother and a friend, someone who should have my back through anything. I fucking love Delaney, alright. I fucking hate that she is hurting and hating me right now, but she won’t talk to me, won’t listen to what I have to say. This is me giving her space to work through what I told her.”

“Are you planning on turning her?” My head snaps to look at Halen, who is looking at me passively. “Completing the bond and Blood Oath.”

All of my brothers are watching me, waiting for what I say next and fuck, I am still unsure about what the future holds. Delaney and I have so much to talk about still, but hell, right now she hates me.

“I can’t answer that.” Winger’s face shows no emotion.
