Chapter Sixty-Three

OLLY

I've been leaning against the wall outside the toilets for the past twenty minutes. How long does it take a girl to pee?

Suddenly, the door flies open and surprised eyes meet mine. Rachel steps back, almost knocking over Felicity in the process, but she manages to right herself, her arm securely tucked into Rachel’s.

"Oliver. What are you doing?"

"Waiting to talk to you," I say, nodding to Felicity in greeting.

"Shall I give you two a minute?" she asks.

Ignoring Felicity’s question, Rachel speaks, "I have nothing to say to you." Her bottom lip trembles and she bites her lip nervously.

"Well, I have plenty to say to you."

She huffs out a sigh. "Just leave me alone, Oliver."

I take hold of her elbow and pull her towards me, her pupils dilated. How much has she had to drink? "Felicity, can you give us a minute?"

She nods, slips her arm free, and then quickly walks to the door leading back into the main bar.

I pull her gently with me, then scan my pass to open the office door and take her inside.

"Really?"

"Yes."

She crosses her arms, albeit sloppy, and I usher her to the small couch where she reluctantly sits. I study her face. She looks like she's been crying and I fucking hate it. "Why are you here bad-mouthing me?" I ask.

Her eyes pin me to where I'm standing. "You are a jerk," she replies.

I point to myself. "I'm a jerk."

"Yes. Why did you even make a big deal about us being together when you were already messing around with someone else?”

I take a step forward and come to a stop. "What are you even talking about right now?”

She gets to her feet and steps right up to me, her chest practically touching mine. Tilting her head to stare back at me, she pokes me hard in the chest. "You—" She pokes me again, and I grab her hand to still her. "I saw you with someone else. And don't try to deny it, Oliver."

Is she fucking kidding me right now? "I was not, nor have Iever beenwith anyone else whilst I've been with you."

She cocks an eyebrow and leans on her hip. "Then who was the woman I saw you making googley eyes with?"

I almost want to laugh. "What?"

"I came to your house to apologise. I wanted to tell youI love you. And I saw you standing in there, staring at another woman the way I wish you would stare at me."

I have to take a tiny step back to catch a breath. "You love me?"

She turns her back on me and heads towards the door, but I grab her elbow and pull her around to face me. "Olly, just let me go."

Is she kidding me?"No, not until you answer my question."

She crosses her arms in defiance, her nose in the air. "No—why should I?"

"Because I love you, too," I say, soft. She shakes her head in disbelief."It was Lottie—my sister."
