“Good, because you’re mine, too, Violet,” he says, his soft breath lightly skimming across my lips before he kisses me with deep, sated reverence.

ChapterFifty-One

NATHAN

Honestly, I don’t deserve this woman. After everything, she’s willing to forgive me. But even so, I need to prove to her that I mean what I say and show her how much she means to me.

I pull her off the sofa, gripping her under her arse as I turn and sit down with her straddling my lap.

“I really have missed you, you have no idea,” I say between kisses.

She lets out a soft moan. “Ditto.”

Cupping her face, I pull back enough to hold her gaze.

“I love you.”

Her eyes mist over, and she gives me the most beautiful smile. “I love you too.”

We stay like that, kissing, until the sound of the oven reminds me I’m cooking and reluctantly, I pull out of the kiss. When she opens her eyes, her pupils are dilated, her cheeks flushed.

“Don’t look at me like that, or we won’t be eating dinner, and I’ll skip straight to dessert.”

Her tiny gasp feathers lightly over my lips, causing my dick to get even harder.

I let out a groan and push to my feet.

“I promise I’ll worship you later until you can’t think straight.” I pass her back her wine.

“I know I have a lot to make up, so I intend to wine and dine you.”

Chuckling as she practically inhales it, I walk back towards the kitchen before spinning on my heels and grabbing the oven gloves.

I was so tempted to be clad in only an apron, but I wanted her to know how serious I am about her, about us, but it’s given me food for thought for another time.

Shaking my head, I laugh at my pun as I pull out the baking tray with the garlic bread. Spaghetti Bolognese, because Italian is one of her favourites. Checking the spaghetti, I throw a piece at the wall where it sticks. “Perfect.”

“Funny, man. You’re cleaning that up,” Violet says from behind me.

I turn off the hob, grab her by the hips, and pull her flush against my body.

“Yes, my queen. And by the way, you blew me away today.”

Her cheeks glow from the praise as she dips her chin towards her chest.

“Don’t even try it, Tink. You were phenomenal, and you know it,” I say, using my index finger to force her to look at me.

“Thank you.”

I kiss her nose and then work on dishing up dinner before it’s inedible.

She sits across from me at the table, and I hold up my glass.

“To moving forward,” I say. “Cheers.”

We both take a sip before we start eating.

“I need you to sign my programme for me.”
