“No, mine.”

I raise my eyebrows. “Since when don’t you share?”

“Since I’m eating for three.”

Okay, I’ll give her that one.

“So, I guess it makes sense why you two were so awkward when we suggested you become housemates.”

She’s right. I did want the ground to open up and swallow me whole, especially after Nathan thought I regretted sleeping with him, which I didn’t. Of course, our conversation just got heated way too quickly.

“I mean, I’m all for sleepovers, but flat sharing.” I shake my head. Even if a tiny part of me isn’t completely opposed to the idea, we’ve barely begun.

I grab my glass and take a sip of orange juice just as she asks, “Anyway, tell me, is he good in bed?”

I snort out my drink through my nose and have to rush to the kitchen.

“What?” she calls from her spot on the sofa. “We always talk about these things.”

Blowing my nose, I throw away the kitchen roll.

“But he’s Ethan’s cousin, they’re practically brothers.”

She shrugs. “And your point?”

Yeah, okay, I don’t have one. It’s not like I didn’t grill her when she started shagging Ethan.

“He’s better than good, if you must know.”

I flop down beside her and pull my legs up underneath me.

“I can’t say I’m surprised. Must run in the family,” she says with a knowing smirk.

I smile. “I’ve never met anyone who enjoys giving pleasure as much as him,” I admit, warmth spreading through my entire body.

Char grabs my arm. “Vi, shit on a stick, are you blushing?”

Reaching out, I grab a magazine off the coffee table and start fanning myself with it.

“You would be, too, if you knew the things he could do.” He made me climax by rubbing my sacrum, for crying out loud. “Seriously, Char, he’s a fucking sensualist.”

She lowers her plate between us and rubs at her stomach. I don’t even think she realises she’s doing it. “I can’t say I’m surprised. Hell, it’s probably why his ex won’t leave him alone if he’s got magic dick energy.”

I can’t help but laugh at that. “Yeah, I thought it was because he was still in love with her, but it’s more complicated than that.”

Char nods in understanding, her smile smoothing into a thin line. “Yeah, Ethan told me a little about that.”

She picks up another slice of apple and brings it to her mouth.

“Oh my God, if you get married to Nathan, you’ll be my cousin-in-law.”

I hold up my hand. “Okay, easy, tiger. Slow your rolls.”

Her eyebrows pinch together.

“Oi, I wasn’t body shaming you, so don’t go there. You’re perfect. All I’m saying is, we’ve barely begun, and I don’t want to jinx it.”

Char sits forward and shuffles, reaching out for my hand.
