“Hmm. We'll see about that.” Cesare answered with a heated look, slowly undressing her with his eyes.

Sabrina flushed. “I need to focus.” She murmured. “I don't want to mess any of these up.”

“You do good work. You should be proud.” He nodded.

Sabrina frowned in concentration. “You’re distracting me.” She softly chided. She turned away to grab the cold foam and filled the rest of the cup before returning to double-check the order ticket. Cesare handed her a caramel dispenser bottle just as she turned around to look for it, and Sabrina accepted it with furrowed brows and an avoidant gaze.

Cesare looked at the line still going out the door, then back to Sabrina. “If you prefer space, I can go.”

Sabrina continued to avoid his gaze as she worked her way through the next drink order, but shook her head. “Stay.” She answered quietly.

Cesare’s voice dropped lower and quieter. “Eyes.” The command was just as gentle as it was unavoidable.

Instinctively, Sabrina looked up, and his arctic sky-blue eyes all but pierced through her. Her heart skipped a beat as a delicious tension hovered, wrapping tighter around them. Cesare must have found whatever he was searching for in her gaze, as he gave a nod, exuding calm approval.

“I’ll stay.” He murmured. “Do you still want me on drinks, or is there something else you’d like me to do?”

Sabrina shook her head. “Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re not half bad at this.” She quirked a smile.

Cesare grinned in response. “Not half bad? I’ll take it.”

Sabrina cleared her throat and turned to the next ticket, making the next order.

Cesare leaned in, speaking closely enough that nobody else could hear. “You haven’t told me what you did with the hundred.”

Sabrina pursed her lips, but a smile peeked out at the edges. “You haven’t asked.” She retorted.

Cesare flashed his dimple again as he grinned and leaned back in. “What did you do with the hundred, Sabrina?”

“What do you think I did with it?” She asked.

“Answering a question with a question?” He raised a brow.

“Just curious what you would guess.” Sabrina shrugged.

“I’m a little worried you going to tell me you donated it to a puppy shelter or something equally selfless that doesn’t take care of any of your needs, which is what it was for.” He muttered grimly.

Sabrina went pink.

Cesare’s eyes widened at her response. “Did you actually donate it to a puppy shelter?”

“No.” Sabrina answered lowly. “But it did go to a rescue-shelter program.”

Cesare blinked, eyeing her for another long moment before releasing a snort of amusement.

“Why is that funny?” Sabrina asked, her eyes flashing with a hint of fire.

“I’m sorry. I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but the last girl I gave a hundred dollars to used it get her ass bleached. Which is fine, but the difference between the two is notable.”

Sabrina froze, blinking as she absorbed his response. “Is that something you need?” She asked in a strangled voice.

Cesare laughed loudly enough that a few customers glanced their way. “No. I don’t need that, Sabrina.” He shook his head with a grin. “My intention was for you to spend it on yourself; however you want. But donating it was very good of you. Next time, tell me where you want to donate and we can make another donation. And then we’ll spend something onyou.”

“I’m not bleaching my ass.” Sabrina grumbled.

Cesare chuckled again. “Noted.”

Cesare stayed for another half hour. Sabrina pretended like she wasn’t aware of every casual press of a hand, or brush of ashoulder that left her tingling, warm, and primed for things she was trying very hard not to think too hard about.
