Sabrina looked down at the blanket, her cheeks flushing pink once more. “I like that.”

Cesare stared for another moment before a roguish grin played at the edges of his lips. When Sabrina stubbornly kept her blushing gaze firmly fixed on the blanket, Cesare left the room with an amused grin.

Reaching the kitchen, he searched for plates used for people and not for animals, only to realize he didn’t know which was which. Frowning, he removed the burritos from their foil wrappers and placed them in the microwave on top of a small pile of paper towels. It would have to do.

A slight shuffling sound in the doorway had him turning his head to see Sabrina standing in the doorway. Cesare watched her hips sashay as she walked toward him, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips.

“Thought I told you to rest, Sabrina.” He spoke lightly, palms itching to spank her for her disobedience.

“I started to remember everything I needed to do.” She answered, biting her lip even as her eyes sparkled. “And there’s just one thing that really couldn’t wait.”

Sabrina took another step, closing the distance between them. Cesare’s hands automatically wrapped around her waist, his large hands gently kneading into the muscle of her hips.

Sabrina’s eyes fluttered shut with a soft sigh as she bowed her head and pressed her forehead against his chest.

“What do you need?” Cesare asked gruffly.

“I need you to kiss me, please.” She answered, lifting her head to meet his heated gaze.

Chapter Fifteen

(Sabrina)

“So fucking polite.” Cesare praised. He wrapped one of his hands behind the back of her head and placed the softest of kisses against her mouth.

Sabrina’s heart skipped a beat as she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss hungrily, swiping her tongue across the seam of his lips. Cesare deepened the kiss, and Sabrina whimpered as his tongue caressed hers, drawing her into his mouth, sucking at her tongue.

Sabrina released a soft, high-pitched cry as she swam in sensation, her head cradled in Cesare’s hands; turned this way and that as he took possession of her mouth deeply, utterly, and irreparably.

When oxygen demanded they come up for air, he reluctantly pulled back, continuing to hold her to him.

“Green means go.” He instructed, looking down at Sabrina seriously. “Yellow means slow down and communicate. Red means everything stops.”

Sabrina blinked, trying to focus on words but struggling to compute.

“Part of taking care of you means making sure you don’t need to say ‘red’, but if you ever want to stop immediately, that’s all you have to say.”

Sabrina nodded, her fingers idly tracing patterns into the skin of his neck. “Okay.”

“I need you to repeat it back to me.” He requested gently but firmly.

Sabrina gave him a guilty smile. “Can you tell me one more time? I was distracted.”

Cesare, unused to repeating himselfever, did so for her.

“Green means go, yellow slows down, and red means stop.” Sabrina attempted to surmise.

“Slow down and communicate.” Cesare corrected.

Sabrina nodded with a hum. “Yes. I’ll try to go easy on you.” Her eyes twinkled mischievously, and Cesare let out a snort that turned into a laugh.

“On me?” Cesare grinned, leaning in closer.

“Mhmm.” Sabrina nodded, amused.

“Safewords do go both ways.” He grinned, an anticipatory gleam in his eyes. He leaned closer. “You’re mine, tesoro.” He swore as his breath mingled with hers.

She closed the distance this time, melting against him, simultaneously feeling more vulnerable and powerful than she’d ever felt before.
