"YOU BASTARD—Ah!" Abigail fisted her hair and slammed her face deeper into the mattresses, silencing her cries as her words muffled. He seethed in her ear.

"I don't want to hurt you, baby. So, don't make me hurtyou. I can be the nicest person you ever met or your worst fucking nightmare. You're not leaving this place, I'll fucking make you mine."

Amara felt her lungs burning as she desperately tried toclaw at his hands. Her face turned red as she struggled to breathe. Abigail chuckled watching her struggle, it amused him, satisfied his sick-twisted mind knowing she was at his mercy. He placed a kiss on her naked back. "You're so beautiful, Amara. Almost too flawless that it makes me want to scar you."

She found herself gasping desperately for the scarce breaths of air. Her vision became plagued by a swirling array of black dots, their dance before her eyes transforming an already terrifyingscene into an even more disorienting and disconcerting experience.

The impatient hands roaming on her naked skin. Faint murmurs, barely audible to her failing senses, added an eerie backdrop to the overarching chaos, gradually fading into an abyss of silence as her consciousness slipped away.

Her mind stubbornly clung to her thoughts, desperately reaching for fragments of rationality amidst the encroaching darkness. Images flashed through her mind, faces — both familiar and unfamiliar ones. Her own screams echoed in her head, desperate cries, and a face she remembered all too easily.

“Iwasforcedintothisfuckingmarriage!Idonotloveyou!Don ’ tfuckingpretendweare lovers!"

A voice yelled emotionlessly. She blinked as the scene in front of her unfolded into a web of darkness.

She looked around helplessly and confused at the sudden change of scenery. A dark cloudy sky took over the sky, sharp lights piercing her eyes as she let out a groan. She wondered how she ended up here, in the middle of the unfamiliar room, with an unfamiliar yet familiar voice resonating in the distance. She suddenly felt a strange sense of familiarity.

Looking around, all she could see was just a woman standing there. She frowned. What werethey doing—she felt something tightening around her chest while she looked at the other side to see a version of herself standing in front of Rafael, a panicked expression on her face. She narrowed her eyes in confusion.

"Rafael, please, I need to talk to you-"

She yelped as he grabbed her upper arm and pulled her harshly.

“I’ll fucking divorce you, you understand. This marriage is over, I do not love you, I never did.”

Amara was about to open her mouth when she observed her mirror self-reaching out for Rafael. She swallowed hard.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion—Rafael pushed her back and she fell on her hands. Tears streamed down her face as Adrain grabbed his car keys. Amra shook her head. She felt her throat tightening, a strange tension in her chest, mouth parting open as she watched him walking away.

Was this a memory? A glimpse of her past? But before she could even process his words and do accordingly, she watched her mirror self running behind Rafael as he got into the car. Amra quickly followed watching as she watched her mirror self running behind his car.

“RAFAEL, PLEASE, WAIT!” She screamed but he did not hear. Amara’s breaths came out slow andfastwatchingherpastversionfallingontheroad.Tearsstreameddownhereyesand gut-wrenching sobs escaped her lips.

And then suddenly, she felt another presence.

Her heart stopped beating. The voices died in the distance, and she felt tears streaming down her face uncontrollably at the sight of him walking towards her kneeling form. Amara struggled to breathe as she stumbled back, hands trembling as she watched with wide eyes.

The situation unfolded in a painfully unexpected manner as Abigail stepped through the shadows. What-what was he doing here?

Abigail kneeled down in front of crying Amara; she flinched as he played with her hands.“I told you he’d never listen, baby girl,”

She watched pathetically her mirror self as she shut her eyes and cried. Abigail ran his hand down her body. Amara swallowed noticing this wasn’t the first time he touched her this way. Disgust and loathe, all at once.

She watched with wide eyes as Abigail slowly grabbed her neck and kissed her lips, and her mirror-self could just obey with tears. His hands tore open her clothes, and Amara yelled.“NO, STOP!”

But no one could hear her voice.

“You’re so beautiful, Amara. Just for me, I’ll never let you go, and before that, I’ll make sure I destroy everything you have.”

Amara thrashed but he just pinned her down and slapped her hard.

“You never learn, don’t you?” He seethed unzipping his pants and positioning himself at her entrance.“But I’ll ruinyou good, on this road, so your husband finds you here and divorce you sooner.”

A sudden sharp pang vigorously resonated through her head, causing her to instinctively grasp her head tightly withher trembling palms, unable to contain theexcruciating pain she felt. Agut-wrenching scream escaped her lips, echoing through the air, desperately seeking solace or help from anyone within earshot. But they seemed not to hear, she tried to pull Abigail away from her body lying on the ground, but her hands couldn’t grab, passing through his body.

Her plea reverberated through the atmosphere, it seemed as though her cries fell upon deaf ears. No one rushed to her side, leaving her to grapple with the torment alone. The deafening silence that ensued seemed to be in eerie harmony with the surrounding environment. Above her, ominous dark clouds gathered, swollen with pent-up energy, ready to discharge their fury at any given moment. In a powerful display of nature's force, thunder boomed and echoed through the sky, mirroring the impact and weight of the lifeless body that now lay motionless before her.
