Kaelith fixed his eyes firmly upon him, conveying a mixture of frustration, disappointment, and perhaps even a hint of anger.

The intensity and forcefulness with which his eyes locked onto his brother sent a clear message - Kaelith was not pleased with whatever it was that Rafael had done or said. Time seemed to stand still as the weight of Kaelith’s glare reverberated in the air. It was as if a storm was brewing within him.

"And what do you want me to do? Kill him? Burn him down? Tear him apart as he begs for his life?"

Rafael snarled.

"Do you not want to?"

"Doyouwant to?" A muscle underneath Rafael's eyes twitched as his fists tightened.“He was your friend, Rafael. You brought this upon her. You made her weak, you lost her and now you have no right to even worry about her.”

"I don't fucking care what happens to him as long as Amara is here...safe. She has been through a lot, and I don't want her to go through all that again. But what didyoudo?" He growled walking to the table as he slammed his fist on the table. "You fucking ruined everything!"

Kaelith eyed his fist, resisting the urge to break the bones. Yet he just calmly leaned back on his seat and crossed his legs.

"Ruined? Ruined what? Your delusional world? Or your plan?" Rafael stilled. Kaelith wanted to laugh at his face yet he just chuckled lowly which sounded more like a devil’s chuckle rather than a human. Rafael felt his brain numbing, the pad of his fingers turning cold as a bead of sweat rolled down his back.

He was completely caught off guard, his eyes widening like portals to an abyss of shock, rendering him momentarily immobile. A chilling sensation enveloped his veins, his blood turning into icy tendrils in his veins.

Kaelith pushed back the chair, standing to his full height. Kaelith ’ s aura suddenly screamed domination as he took a step forward running his finger on the table as his sharp eyes focused on Rafael.

He smirked as he looked at his brother’s pale face. "You were the one who let that bastard have his way with her because you wanted to divorce her," he stated. "You preferred to be a saint, be a victim so that you could blame her for cheating on you and divorcing her would be easier,” Kaelith’ sjawticked.“Youhadherraped, don’tthinkIdon’ tknowaboutyourlittletricks,” He continued.“That day, you knew what Abigail was going to do and you let him, and when guilttrips you, you rushed her to the hospital, playing a good husband.”

“You had those filed all along, don’t you? The videotape? Knowing damn well knowing I would kill him for touching Amara. You were trying to find something against me, and when you couldn't, you turned our parents against me. You knew I was in love with her, and yet you married her, just because you wanted to see me suffer," Adian instinctively took a step back, stumbling slightly. Kaelith advanced another step. "I must admit, you did a commendable job, but do you truly believe that I am the only one on my knees here..."

Rafael blinked as a lump of saliva formed in his throat. Kaelith took another step till he was just a foot away from him and tilted his head to the side. A scary smile lingered on his lips.

"You really think since you’re here, you’re safe? Think again, little brother… no madman walks into a lion’ s den knowing facing a calm lion is akin to standing before the silent storm.”

Rafael ’ spalefacereddenedwithanger.Kaelithchuckled."Revengetastesbetterthanhatred, doesn't it?"

"I-I..what—"Rafaelstuttered."Howdo..."

"How do I know?" Kaelith mused. "You shouldn't be asking this, Rafael. If I don't say anything that doesn’t mean I am ignorant, I am just taking my time keeping my facts straight."

Rafael shook his head, not believing a word as he angrily stomped.

"That does not prove anything. What can you do? Kill me? You cannot do anything to me." Rafael looked wide-eyed as Kaelith laughed.

"Kill you?" He laughed and whispered. "Don't worry, little brother, I won’ t be this merciful." Rafael stumbled as darkness flashed before his eyes. His plan was ruined. Whatever he worked on for years was now in dust.

"By the way, I appreciated your mindset. You willingly assisted Abigail in kidnapping her, despite knowing that I would never allow you to harm her. Instead, you allowed him to handle the situation because you viewed him as an easier opponent." Rafael felt his whole world shaking. Kaelith felt anger simmering through his veins. If it wasn ' t for Lorcan, Kaelith wondered how he exposed Rafael. He had his doubts, but now they were all cleared.

Rafael’s knees trembled as he fell on his knees. His hands shaking. He felt everything slipping through his fingers, like sand and water.

Kaelith observed him. His anger rose as he crouched down. He fisted his hair making Rafael hissand pulled his head back as he seethed. "Don't ever play games with me. Don't ever ever ever think that you’re capable." Rafael gulped, unable to form any word.

"And you think whatever you are doing will make it right?" Rafael muttered.

Kaelith chuckled lowly sending a chill down his spine. "I am not a good guy remember, I do what I want, I take what I want, I'm the selfish one, I don't do the right thing."

CHAPTER 78

"Get up." Amara looked confusedly at two men towering over her. Dressed in black clothes and scary tattoos.

A deep frown formed on her face, accompanied by a sense of discomfort and unease. Having remained in a stationary state for a long duration of nearly a day or so, her legs had gradually succumbed to a numbing sensation, rendering them almost unresponsive to her commands. Thus, when she attempted to move, her steps were unsteady and unstable, causing her to stumble momentarily. The guard hastily and instinctively reached out, swiftly grasping her arm. With a swift motion, he began to lead her towards the door with an undeniable urgency.

A sudden surge of panic forcefully swept over her entire being, overwhelming her senses and plunging her further into a state of trepidation. It was as if a new, more potent wave of fear had washed over her, intensifying the gravity of the situation. As her gaze frantically scanned the surroundings, her eyes inevitably locked with the piercing stare of another man making his way towards them. He seemed like he must be in his fifties. Wearing a suit and a heavy frown on his face.
