“It’s all over the baseball blogs.Women are dying to have their name in it.”

He shakes his head with a smile.“Well, you’re the only one with four stars.”

He winks.

I know we’re joking, and there’s no real black book, but what’s happening in my stomach doesn’t feel like it.I can’t catch feelings for him.But I have enjoyed spending this time with him. He’s no different than when we slept together, though, so why is that?

He presses the call button on his mom’s cell and sits back, putting his hand on my knee.

“Don’t worry, they’ll love you just like I do,” he whispers.

There goes that trapeze artist in my stomach again.

Alarms are blaring in my head, but I ignore them.

Easton Bailey is temporary.I know this, so there’s nothing to worry about.

Chicago’s most eligible bachelor is officially off the market.

Written by Bryce Cavanaugh | The Breakout

CHICAGO—Chicago’s favorite shortstop is officially taken.Someone let the Diamond Girls know.

Just days after Colts shortstop Easton Bailey dropped to one knee in the middle of a Chicago children’s bookstore, the couple have gone and made it official.Bailey and Hadley Hargrove were spotted leaving the Cook County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.

The couple, who announced their engagement mere days ago, appear to have skipped the big production in favor of something more intimate.

Also present?Tanner Bailey, Bailey’s infant son, who is rumored to have slept through the entire ceremony.

Bailey has not commented beyond a single Instagram story posted shortly after—a photo of the three of them captioned “She’s a Bailey now.”Jagger Kale, Bailey’s agent, released a brief statement confirming the marriage and asking to give the newly formed family privacy.

Little is known about Hargrove, who appears to have kept a notably low profile until now.Chicago is going to want to know more about the woman who finally got Easton Bailey to say I do.

Nonetheless, we wish the Bailey family nothing but the best.Tanner, buddy, you’re in good hands.

ChapterNineteen

Easton

Before a home game, Decker and I always go to the net to say hello to the families, but now Decker has his own family to say hello to.I go along for Monroe and Lincoln.Lake doesn’t really care anymore.

Tonight, though, Hadley is here with Tanner, his little blue headphones protecting his ears.Foster gives Callie crap all the time about how he’d prefer her in a suite, and she refuses. But for me, I want them front and center.I’m not even standing here to play it up for the media.Iwantto see both of them before stepping onto the field to play.

“Come down.”I wave her over.

“Hey, guys.”Decker talks to the other kids, fist bumping them and asking if they’re getting a slushie or ice cream tonight.

Hadley slides between the kids, whom I happily fist bump and give a hello to.

“I don’t want to take up your time,” she says.

Tanner reaches out, and I grip his small hand, kissing it.“You’re with me.”

Something crosses Hadley’s face, but I can’t name the expression. She’s probably thinking that she isn’t mine. But according to a very important piece of paper and the public, she is.And I’ve been enjoying that fact, probably a little too much.

“Ready to see Daddy play?”I ask Tanner.
