“Incredible,” I finish for him, my voice no more than a whisper against the silence of the afternoon.

He nods and pulls me in for a lazy kiss. It’s slow and languid, filled with satisfaction and a sense of intimacy that leaves me stunned.

The area is quiet now. The only sounds are our deep breathing and the gentle lapping of water against the sides of the pool. As I look into his eyes, I see rawness and sincerity. A shiver runs through me, not from the cool water, but from the intensity of his gaze.

A slow smile curves his lips. “You know, I think we could use a round two.”

“You think?”

“Don’t you?”

Before I can respond, he’s moving again, shifting me in his arms with an ease that speaks of strength. With one hand holding me steady against him, he uses the other to push off the edge of the pool. We’re drifting, floating aimlessly across the blue water.

He looks down at me—all wet long hair and smoky eyes—and I…

Ifeelsomething.

Something that’s not obsession at all.

It’s warm and steady, like sunlight through a window I didn’t know I’d left open.

It doesn’t burn. It softens.

It makes me want to stay here with Sebastian.

Not just for round two but…

Damn.

Forever.

I didn’t come here to fall in love.

I came to meet four billionaires and maybe get one of them to choose me. I have my own agenda—my own reason for needing access to billions.

But now?

Now I’m not thinking about leverage. Or power. Or safety.

I’m thinking about how Sebastian’s breath hitched when he came inside me. How he touched me like I wasn’t a contestant in this competition or a distraction, but somethingreal.

Somethinghis.

This was supposed to be calculated. Controlled.

Instead, I’m tangled up in a gorgeous rock star withintense heat and the kind of quiet that only happens when someone sees all the parts of you that you never meant to show.

And for the first time since I got to this island, I’m scared.

Because love wasn’t part of the plan.

We’ve drifted to the other side of the pool, and Sebastian is still holding onto me, but his eyes are closed.

“Round two?” I say.

“Mmm…” he moans. “Sounds great…Emily.”
