I groan and toss my phone on the bed, but Lucy notices.
“What's up?”
I respond without looking anywhere but her blue eyes as she folds a shirt.
“Chaos just text, saying Reign will drive me down there.”
She remains silent for a moment, studying me before responding.
“What's the deal with you looking so down about it?”
I shake my head and then shrug my shoulders casually.
“It's fine. I just do not know Reign very well. Don’t you think he gives off an odd vibe?”
My gaze meets hers, and she shrugs her shoulders, looking perplexed.
“He seems fine to me, despite the fact that he doesn't say much.”
Of course, he appears fine to her; she isn’t sensitive to dark energy, but I can notice it very easily. She turns around, picking out clothing for the weekend, and continues.
“You can always jump in the back with Cody and me if you want.”
As I react, my eyes light up.
“Really?”
With a smile on her lips, she glances over her shoulder at me, her long blonde hair tumbling down her back.
“Sure.”
We are all set to travel after some time spent getting ready and packing our bags when Lucy suddenly speaks once she receives a text on her phone.
“Okay, Cody is outside; let's go.”
I grab my bag, sling it over my shoulder, and go out the door behind her before locking it.
Once we have exited the building, I notice Cody with Reign conversing as he leans up against a black, gleaming Range Rover in the parking lot wearing gray sweatpants and a white tank, exposing his inked skin and huge muscles. I am getting nervous as we get closer, but I am trying not to be and attempting to push past it.
As soon as they notice us approaching, Reign folds his big arms across his chest, and although he is wearing sunglasses, I can sense his eyes all over me. I simply glance around, avoiding eye contact, because I'm still mortified that I watched him come this morning.
When we come to a stop, I watch Cody yank Lucy into him and grab her ass cheek tightly, and he takes his cigarette out of his mouth before speaking through gritted teeth, just like Chaos does.
“You're looking fucking hot.”
She giggles before kissing him, and as things get heated between them, I shuffle uneasily on my feet, impatient to get away from Reign’s overbearing presence. I clear my throat in an attempt to stop them from fucking right here in front of us which causes Lucy to pause and glance back at me over her shoulder, a bashful smile on her face, before returning her gaze to Cody.
“Charley is going to ride along with us if that's okay.”
When Cody and Reign look down at me, I avoid eye contact with both until Cody chuckles.
“My car is fucking full, but if she wants to watch me fuck you over the seat halfway through our drive, she's more than welcome to squeeze in the back.”
My eyes are drawn to him immediately, and I narrow them because I now realize I must confront Reign. Cody smirks and Lucy says nothing else, so I glance up at Reign with apprehension.
“Which one is yours?”
He makes a small head motion to the one he is leaning against, and I nod before spinning around and walking around the car to the passenger side.
