I close my eyes and wipe my running nose on my sleeve before responding sternly.
“That doesn’t make up for the fucked up shit you’ve both done to me, Chaos. You used and betrayed me beyond belief. I feel like I don’t even know who the hell you both are anymore or if I can trust you.”
“We know that Char and we’re fucking sorry.”
With my eyes still closed and my head lowered, I try to take everything in so I can ask some questions before I get the fuck out of here.
“You said you stopped stalking me when I eventually got involved with you both—”
My eyes open and I glance between them.
“So, who the fuck was that at the Lakehouse and who stabbed me?"
They both look at each other confusedly before Chaos speaks.
“The Lakehouse?”
“Yes, the Lakehouse. You know, the night you weren’t there and funny enough, there was a masked guy in the woods.”
My narrowed eyes then meet Reign and I cock my head to the side.
“And it’s quite strange that you were waiting outside when I was stabbed in that haunted fucking house, don’t you think?”
Reign's jaw tenses at my accusation, his dark eyes flashing with rage before he raises his chin to me.
“Think about it, Charley. When we were your stalkers, before you even met us, were you ever hurt or were you adored?”
My face falls expressionless as I think about it.
“Despite what the fuck we've done and how much hurt we have brought to your heart; we were never in it to hurt you physically. That ain’t us. You had to come to us willingly. We would have never forced you.”
I raise my eyebrow in defiance, not buying a word of it and I challenge him.
“Yet, you baited me knowing I was a vulnerable, virgin girl who was desperate for fucking intimacy and love, Reign. You both knew exactly what you were doing. You didn’t have to force shit. You manipulated your way into my mind from a young age and you kept other guys away from me because you knew I would fall for you and Chaos since you were the first guys to ever grace my fucking presence.”
He inhales deeply from my words yet stays silent because he knows I am right. It all makes sense now. Every single bit of it and I feel like an absolute fool.
“And Justin?”
I raise an eyebrow between them, and they glance at one another before Reign confirms it.
“He’s dead, just as you saw.”
Feeling numb, I just stare at him, tears blurring my vision as replays of Justin’s lifeless body flash through my mind and he continues, emotionless.
“And we would do it all over again, because you’re ours.”
I slowly shake my head at him in a zombie-like state, feeling disgusted and he shrugs his big shoulders with his hands still deep in his pockets.
“What do you want me to say Charley? You want honesty and I am not going to lie to you anymore. Every guy that came near you we either scared away or we fucking killed. That is who we are.”
I close my eyes slowly, facing aside so I don’t have to look at him anymore, but Chaos decides to continue explaining.
“But the person who ransacked your dorm when you were at the Lakehouse found our letters, Charley, and he is now posing as us to confuse you for this exact reason. That person is Maddox; he was the one who stabbed you and any time you see those masks after meeting us, it wasn’t us, it must a have been him.”
I now open my eyes when he mentions that guy’s name again and I look between them both.
“But why the hell would he want to hurt me if I am supposed to marry him?”
