“Yeah, we’ll be there.” Caden bumps into me and jolts me back to the present.

I look down at the ground. “See you at school, Coach.”

A guarded look flows over Darius’s face, but he nods. “See you at school.”

We head over to Caden’s car. I glance over my shoulder and lock eyes with Darius again. We have a connection, and if he wasn’t my coach, I would have loved to explore it more with him. However, that connection didn’t stop me from fucking Parker Ford with Caden.

But with Harper, if the same opportunity came up, I would decline. And while Darius and I could have been something, Harper and Iaresomething. We have a definite future together that includes the people I care about most in the world.

“You good?” Caden asks as we get into his car.

“Yeah.” I lean my head back and smirk. “I get Harper to myself for a while, so I’m golden.”

“I’m always available for playdates.” His grin is huge.

I laugh. Yeah, we learned early on we liked to fuck the same girl. It didn’t hurt that I could get them ready to take his huge cock.

“Next time. Maybe.” I turn to him and smile. “You get to fuck her almost every night. I need some alone time with our girl.”

His smile softens at theour girl. He’s lost on Harper. I’m counting the days until he admits how he feels. If he even can.

“You going to tell her you love her?” I cock an eyebrow.

He shakes his head. “I don’t know what love is.”

That’s the biggest load of shit I’ve ever heard come out of his mouth. “You love your sister.”

“She’s my responsibility.” His fingers tighten on the wheel.

“You love me.”

He glances at me with a smirk. “You wish.”

“Fuck off, asshole.” I smile. “You love me and take care of me.”

“You’re different.” He shakes his head and his smile falls away. “Ava’s different.”

“Harper’s different,” I point out.

A grumble comes from his chest. “Loyalty doesn’t equal love.”

“She’ll need you to say it to her eventually, Caden, or you’ll lose her.” That’s one thing we’re learning about Harper. I’m positive she’ll love us hard, but she’ll need us to love her just as hard.

“She’s mine.” He turns into his driveway and pulls into his spot in the garage. When the car is in park, he turns to me. “I’m not going to lie to her and tell her I love her. I don’t know the meaning of that word. She’s mine and I’m hers. It’s enough.”

“For now.” I get out of the car. Grumbling, he gets out too. “Harper knows what love is. Her mom gives it to her. Kenz gives it to her. She won’t stay with us if we don’t give it to her too.”

“Are you ready to tell her you love her?” Caden’s words are harsh, but come from a place of hurt and worry.

“Nah, man. But do I feel something for her that can grow into love?” I walk with him to the back of his house. “Yes, I do. And I know she’ll be worth it.”

He opens the door and the noise of racing cars makes it impossible to be heard.

“You’re going down, Foster.” Harper sounds determined as we walk into the room.

“Not if I take you down first.” Luke almost sounds amused.

“You know I’m beating both your asses.” Eli shakes his head as he mashes the buttons on the controller.
