I almost came right there. His dirty mouth, his hot breath, the sudden heat rising in Elian’s eyes…

Holy fuck, I’d never been so turned on in my life.

I met Elian’s gaze again, the fire in his eyes a reflection of the same fire burning in me, white-hot and all-consuming. Destructive. Chaotic.

Unstoppable.

Elian didn’t say a word. Just clenched his fists at his sides, his jaw so tight he was nearly trembling.

He could’ve left, I reminded myself. Could’ve turned around, opened that door, and walked right out.

But he didn’t.

“Yes,” I finally whispered, answering for both of us.

Jax tore my panties off so fast, the lace burned my hips. He brought them to his face and inhaled, then stuffed them into Elian’s pants pocket.

Still, the vampire-fae didn’t move.

Gripping my thighs, Jax lifted me right off the ground, wrapping my legs around his hips from behind. I tipped forward, catching myself on Elian’s shoulders as Jax slid into me with a hard thrust.

“Jax!” I cried out with a gasp, the new angle of my body giving him even deeper access. He rocked his hips, hitting me just… just right.

Elian grabbed my wrists, my hands still clamped on his shoulders, his back firm against the door. I waited for him to shrug me off, to let me fall, to dosomethingother than drill into me with those penetrating silver eyes, but he didn’t move. Didn’t speak. Barely even breathed.

“Elian,” I whispered, my eyes blurring with tears. The pain and longing in my heart intensified, mixing with the tremors of pleasure coursing through my body at Jax’s every touch.

More than anything, I wanted Elian to kiss me. To claim me right along with Jax, even if it was just for tonight. Even if it was destined to become nothing more than another memory haunting my dreams, slicing me up like a razor blade every time I touched it.

I whispered his name once more, and a new fire blazed in his eyes. He released one of my wrists and trailed his fingers up my arm, goosebumps rising in his path.

Then he wrapped his hand around my throat, squeezing just tight enough to make it hurt.

Just tight enough to let me know he rememberedexactlyhow I liked it.

Oh, fuck…

A fresh bolt of desire rocketed between my thighs, and Jax slowed his movements behind me, the subtle tease of his cock making me ache. He tugged on my hair again, his other hand firm around my hip, fingers digging into my flesh.

My thighs clenched tighter, and I crossed my ankles behind him, drawing him in deeper. I strained to get closer to Elian, but between Jax pulling my hair and Elian’s tight grip around my throat, the kiss I so desperately wanted remained just out of reach.

This was… this was fucking crazy. I was pinned between them, the demon whose every touch made me feel like I needed to go to church and beg for absolution and the vampire-fae whose smoldering gaze still had the power to make me weak.

I hadn’t seen that look in five years—not like this, close and raw. For all the shit he’d put me through, for all the nights I’d spent curled up on the kitchen floor, for all the hours I’d spent cursing his very name…

God, I’d fuckingmissedhim. Istillmissed him—maybe even more now, having him so close but never close enough.

I was his captive—heart, body, and soul.

Why hadn’t he turned around and walked out of here? Did he want me as badly as I still wanted him? Was this all just a game to him?

And was Jax truly okay with this? No, the demon and I weren’t in a relationship. Hadn’t really talked about anything other than enjoying each other’s company in Midnight. But most guys weren’t into sharing, no matter how much they might’ve joked about it, no matter how casual the hookups.

Was it crazy to think he didn’t care that I so obviously wanted Elian? Wanted them both?

I was confused and angry and completely overwhelmed, butdamn, I’d never felt anything so intense—so hot—in my life.

I didn’t want it to end.
