I wave off his concern as she relaxes her throat and takes me in deeper, her tongue rippling with every stroke. A soft moan vibrates through her lips, and in that moment I thank the fucking devil Klaiburn is as old as he is, or he might’ve heard her.
“The name of the box holder is Brian Avery. I want you to... leave me the bank’s key to that box and… and clear the branch of all security and evening employees, yourself included…” I swallow hard, barely holding on, barely breathing, my hand pressed to my chest like that heartburn isreallydoing a number on me. “And… insure the security cameras are inoperative for one hour.”
“What? How do you propose I do all that?”
“Tell them there’s a… a gas leak, or a water main break, or… I don’t know, an accidental release of the guest list from one of your clubs and fuckinghell, Klaiburn!” I slam a fist down on the desk, mere seconds from exploding in her mouth. “Do I need to spell it out? You’re a bank VP! Surely you’ve got the wits to think of some ruse!”
He blinks at me, totally silent. Then, “Are you sure you’re not having a heart attack?”
“No, but I will be if you don’t leave here at once and do as I ask.”
“You’re sweating, Mr. Caldwell. You—”
“That will beall, Mr. Klaiburn.”
He rises from the chair, his face grim, annoyance pinching his brows. He hates me. They all do. But in the end, they all do what I expect of them. That’s just how things work among powerful people with dirty secrets.
“I’ll text you as soon as I’ve located the key and the coast is clear,” he says, finally heading for the door.
“See that you do. Oh, and Mr. Klaiburn? Close the door behind you, if you don’t mind.”
He grumbles something under his breath, then slams the door with gusto.
The moment he’s gone, the gargoyle bursts free from the glamour.
She had my whole cock in her mouth, the poor girl, and now that it’s back in gargoyle form, it’s just too big for her to handle. It slips out, that final stroke of her lips and tongue sending me right over the fucking cliff.
I grip the base and growl her name and unload in a white-hot fury, absolutelypaintingher with it—her throat. Her stomach. Those perfect tits.
Still half under my desk, she gasps and closes her eyes and arches her back and takes it. Every hot stroke. Every drop.
When I finally stop trembling, when my balls finally stop humming, when I finally come back to earth, I suck in a deep breath. Hold it. Count to ten.
Then I haul her up off the floor and set her on the desk, caging her between my arms and leaning in so close, I can see the tiny flecks of gold in her eyes.
She’s covered in my release, her lips swollen, her breath wild, and I’m fairly certain I’m not even alive anymore.
“That,” I say, wrapping a claw-tipped hand around her throat, “was unwise.”
Chapter Thirty-Four
DRAEGAN
“Oh,yes,” Westlyn says, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Really bad call on my part. I can tell you hated every minute of—”
I tighten my grip around her throat, and with a soft, final gasp, the words die on her tongue.
I lean in close, pressing my lips to her temple. A deep, animalistic growl vibrates through my chest—a threat and a promise both. “Such a naughty little mortal. Howevershall I punish you now?”
She squirms on the desk and claws at my arm, trying but failing to free herself from my treacherous hold. In a small, breathy voice, she says, “Let me go.”
“I think you’d rather I let youcome. However…” I release her throat and drag my claws down through the mess I left on her skin, smearing it over her breasts and stomach as she trembles beneath my touch—a touch that could very easily turn deadly. “If you’d like to end this now, feel free to use your words.”
“You… you don’t evenknowmy words,” she breathes.
“Are you certain?” I ask, sweeping lower with the tips of those deadly claws. “When it comes to the events unfolding under my roof, I know more than you realize. So if you truly wish to call this off…”
“But I…” She closes her eyes, clearly at war with herself. “Please.”
