“Come for me, wild girl,” I growl, rubbing her clit faster. “Come for me and make me fuckingfeelhow much you want this.”

There’s no hesitation. Starved for this release, her body obeys before her mind even processes the words.

“Rook!” she cries out, her heels digging hard into my lower back, her thighs trembling against my hips, her pussy clenching hard around my cock as the delayed orgasm finally explodes inside her, wave after pulsating wave, dragging me right over that white-hot edge with her.

One more deep thrust, and I come with a vicious snarl, unleashing a hot torrent that paints her insides and drips down her thighs, impossible to contain.

When her thighs finally stop trembling and my muscles relax and the last waves of ecstasy finally begin to recede, I remove the vibrator and lay my cheek against her chest, my wings arcing over us as I count the beats of her heart and remind myself that she’s real.

That she’s here.

That she’s ours.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

ROOK

Slowly rising from the table, I grab a fire-warmed blanket from the back of the sofa and drape it over her. “Stay here,” I say, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “I’ll be right back.”

After cleaning my new favorite toy, I run a hot bath in the library bathroom, then retrieve my wild witch from the table, leaving the blanket behind.

She sighs contentedly in my arms. “Boneless,” she whispers, a faint smile touching the corners of her mouth.

“What do you mean?”

“You promised me boneless, and you delivered.”

I laugh. “When does your professor ever disappoint?”

Another contented sigh. “He doesn’t.”

Gently, I set her in the tub, watching her limbs unfurl in the water.

“Lean back,” I say, kneeling beside the tub. “I’ve got you.”

She does as I ask, and I wash her hair, massaging her scalp and neck, then slowly guiding her head under the faucet to rinse.

“What time is it?” she asks with an adorable yawn.

“There’s no hurry. We’ve got about an hour before sunrise yet.”

“An hour?” She sits up, turning to face me. “That’s no time at all! I was hoping you’d have time to tell me about your meeting with Tatiana.”

A chill presses against my heart as I recall everything Tatiana shared tonight. The rune. The prophecy.

But there’s too much to say, too much to unpack, and I’m not about to try with less than an hour.

Tomorrow. It can wait until tomorrow.

“Rook?” she presses.

Swallowing down my worries, I cup her face and say, “I mean, wecouldspend our last hour together talking about fae and demon lore, but honestly?” I lean in and brush a soft kiss to her mouth, my heartbeat stuttering. “I’d much rather spend it telling you how I fell for you.”

West’s eyes shimmer in the moonlight, an unspoken question behind them.

“Yes, Wild West. I fell for you, too. I’vedeterminedit withcertainty.”

Her answering smile spreads from ear to ear. She knows I never use those particular words lightly.
