“Thank you, just what every woman likes to hear from her boyfriend,” I complain, rolling my eyes. “Excuse me!” I huff when Kyle walks into the room. “Thanks a lot, tattletale.”

“I didn’t say anything,” Kyle says as he stares down at me.

I wrap the towel tighter around my body and frown at him.

“Didn’t say anything about what?” Caine asks, looking between me and Kyle with his hands on his hips.

The poor man is wet from getting me out of the shower. I also see that Kyle changed his shirt.

Neither Kyle nor I say anything in answer to Caine’s question.

“Why are you here, Kyle?” I ask, seeing an opportunity.

“I asked him to check on you,” Caine says. “Why was there a chair in the shower?” He raises a brow at me.

“Wasn’t Mikayla sitting on it?”. His head swiftly turns to me with his permanent scowl in place.

“She was on the floor,” Caine says. “I heard it crash and ran in.”

“You’re killing me, Mikayla.” Kyle runs his hand over his face. “I want to see iffood helps, but if not, I’ll want to run some labs.”

“Can someone please tell me what the fuck is going on?” Caine bellows.

“I fainted,” I state flatly.

“Again?”

“She didn’t eat,” Kyle says.

I look at him with my mouth hanging open. “Why you got to throw me under the bus?”

“I’ll let Pat know I’ll be home for the rest of the day,” Caine says, pulling his phone out of his back pocket.

“Caine, you don’t have to take the day off,” I say while trying to stand up, but I get a case of the spins as soon as my butt leaves the mattress.

“Sit down!” Kyle says, seeing my distress. “I hope it’s just a blood sugar issue.”

It’s obvious at this point that I’m not going to win this. And the dizziness is now making me really worried too. Caine sends his text and places his phone back in his pocket with a glare at me.

“You should have called me!” he scolds, pointing a finger at me. “I’ll get you food,” Caine says before walking away!

“Can you get me clothes first?” I holler before he can leave the room.

“Fuck,” he says, walking back. Kyle doesn’t move as Caine grabs a shirt and some shorts for me from a set of drawers. I didn’t even realize he had unpacked and put my clothes away for me.

Conversation for another time… will be filing that away for later. Sweet man.

“I need underwear,” I remind him, watching to see where he puts those items.

When Caine moves to remove my towel, I grip it as tightly as I can and turn my gaze to his friend.

“Why the fuck are you still here?” Caine barks.

“You never minded before,” Kyle grumbles, rolling his eyes, and walking away.

“Pardon me?” I ask with obvious irritation.

“Nothing,” Caine says, as he tries to put my bra on.
