I pointed to the coconut oil, my whole mind lagging behind my actions. What the fuck was I doing?
But Alex didn’t lose any time. He sat up slightly and then—
“Yes. I love coconut oil.”
Not giving me an opportunity to process what I’d just done, he was already sliding off the couch and pushing the coffee table out of the way. Three seconds later, he was on the floor, sitting right in front of me.
Fuckme, I didn’t expect that. He leaned against the couch, his big shoulders crowding my legs, and was ready formeto put coconut oil intohishair.
So.
We were doing this then.
I gulped, wishing for nothing but a tequila shot to wash down this turn of events. I dipped my fingers into the coconut oil and paused. I was about to touch him—I was about to give a head massage to the man who kidnapped me.
I knew I didn’t have to. I knew I could say no. Play it off, crack a joke, or simply just walk away. So why wasn’t I?
Because why did I always have to respect some invisible rules?
I took a deep breath in andtouched. His hair was beyond soft. Thick and luscious, and a tiny bit damp from his shower. I buried my fingers inside his mane, gently rubbing in the oil, petrified of this moment.
“Mmm,” he groaned, the sound reaching deep into my belly.
“You like it?” The question left my lips before my mind caught it. Thankfully, my voice wasn’t shaking.
Alex nodded, tugging my fingers with the motion of his head. “I do,” he whispered, stealing the air out of me once more. It was silent for a few seconds until my mouth did its own thing again.
“Your head’s huge.”
Wow. I needed to shut the fuck up forever.
He chuckled, all of him relaxed. “I’m a big guy.”
That was undeniable and I had many, many, many…thoughtsabout it. More than I’d ever wanted to admit. “There’s a dirty joke in there somewhere.”
“Tell me,” he requested, his voice not even a hint suggestive.
“You can figure it out.” I rubbed his temples harder and tried to focus on breathing to calm myself down. But Alex slowly dropped his head back, his dark eyes staring up at me. He was beautiful even upside down.
“Is the joke that you think I’m big…all over?”
Oh God.Oh God, oh God, oh God.My mind was on fire.
“Size doesn't really matter, Alex. Skill does,” I deflected, unable to truly concentrate on what I was doing.
Involuntarily, my gaze travelled down his chest, over his stomach, and onto his crotch. His large, tattooed hands rested there, and my imagination blazed. His fingers wrapping around his…his… Was it actually big? Was he?Big all over?
“Mmm,” he hummed, his eyes locked on mine. “That’s something you say to make the small guys feel better.”
I chuckled loudly, my fingertips in sensory heaven. “How would you know? Someone said that to you before?” I leaned over him, letting my hair fall all over.
And that’s when something clicked into place inside me. It all moved a mile a minute—my heart, my breath, my brain.
We were inches apart. I stared down into his eyes and he didn’t blink, holding my attention.
“What kind of criminal are you?” I asked, barely able to pronounce the words. “If you’re sitting here all coconutty…with your captive.”
He held the pause and searched my gaze. “One who’s bending all the rules…for his captive.”
