“He doesn’t kill people. He hurts them. There’s a big difference.” We both knew the meaning of my words. He hurther."If you want him dead, just say the word, Jade.”
“I-I…don’t,” she responded, but…she hesitated.
We’d work up to it.
“Then hit him where it hurts, Malyshka. Make his wallet bleed.”
The seconds stretched while Jade mulled it over, and right when I thought this whole thing was a mistake, she acted.Slowly, she turned in my arms and melted back into me, gifting me her softness and the divine scent of her hair.
“Okay. Where do you want the shot again?”
That’s my girl.
I pressed her to me, and she guided my hand onto her stomach, locking us together in this little mischief.
What a great evening—Jade was in my embrace, and we were about to fuck shit up.
"On three," I whispered in her ear. Determined this time, Jade stilled and raised the gun while I adjusted her aim. “One...two...three.”
We did it together.
The bullet smashed through the window, cracking it like thick ice.
"Now, let's make it hurt for him."

Title XLVI, CHAPTER 806: ARSON AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Any person who willfully and unlawfully, or while in the commission of any felony, by fire or explosion, damages or causes to be damaged any structure or contents thereof.
Alex pulled on a black balaclava and withdrew a lighter and a bottle from his hoodie pocket. Planted to the ground, I watched as he stepped out of the bushes and trotted toward the building.
With ease and grace, he launched the bottle at the window with incredible force, right where the bullet pierced it a minute ago. The whole glass shattered in a deafening clatter and the insideblazed.
What did the law understand about the arson we’d just committed? What could the law tell me about the scar burning on my skin?
Did the law know anything about the man who threw the Molotov cocktail and set fire to thestructure?
The law had a clear definition for arson. But it was silent about the way my blood heated when I watched the man commit thecriminal mischief.
“Let’s go,Preziosa.”
Alex offered me his hand, his tone gentle and reassuring. Before I could fully process what just happened, he laced his fingers through mine and guided me down the sidewalk like we were some couple going home after dinner instead of abandoning the scene of a crime.
Title XLVI, CHAPTER 787: KIDNAPPING. The term “kidnapping” means forcibly, secretly, or by threat confining, abducting, or imprisoning another person against her or his will and without lawful authority.
The man whoforcibly and secretly abductedme turned off the engine of his motorcycle as soon as he pulled up to the house where heimprisoned me against my will and without lawful authority.
The law was all wrong again. Because the law didn’t see the worry in that man’s eyes—his concern for me.
“Are you okay, Jade? It was just a little mischief. No one will ever know you were involved.”
I chuckled at his attempts to quell my potential spiral. His hair was all disheveled after the helmet and he stepped closer to me, catching the look in my eyes while I still sat on the bike.
