“You deserve better than a dark cell and a cave,” he said, annoyed his own words had grown him even harder.
“What does it truly matter where we join as long as we both are eager to do so? We do not know what awaits us. We have this moment, this chance to commit even more than we have, and I don’t want to lose it. I want every moment I can get with you no matter where it is.”
That was all Kaelan needed to hear. “I love you more each day, wife.”
She looked at him, a gentle pleading in her eyes. “Then take advantage of this moment and make love to me, husband.”
She didn’t wait. She rolled on her back and hiked up her garments.
He didn’t hesitate. He turned on his side and let his fingers roam between her legs. Her skin was soft and he let himself linger, exploring her inner thighs until he got close to her dampness and he slipped his finger into her.
She gasped.
“Too loud,” he warned. “You will wake the troll.”
“Henry,” she said softly.
“Henry?” Kaelan asked, wondering who Henry was.
She shook her head. “Later.”
He did not argue with that. She was wet and responded eagerly to him. He would have liked to linger but the hoot of an owl reminded him where they were and how dangerous it was for them to take such a chance.
Kaelan hurried over her then, keeping himself braced above her as he slipped into her gently.
Another gasp rushed to escape Bria, but she held it back and grabbed hold of his arms, squeezing them. Pleasure consumed her so much more than the first time they joined, and she found herself moving eagerly beneath him.
It was such an amazing feeling, and it grew stronger as his thrusts grew stronger. Then she felt it, as if she stood at the edge waiting to fall into what she could not wait to find out.
Kaelan saw it in her eyes and felt it in the way she thrust against him. Then he felt it, saw her mouth drop open and he lowered his head to capture her scream in his mouth.
It sent Kaelan over the edge and he exploded with her, so very glad his wife cared more about coupling with him than where they coupled.
After several minutes, he moved off her, pulling her garments down and taking her in his arms to tuck her to his side as he lay down on his back.
“We truly are meant for each other,” Bria said softly as if the truth of it had finally settled into her.
“Aye, that we are,” he agreed. “But the next time we join it?—”
She pressed her fingers to his lips. “It will be most welcome wherever it is.”
“So, you cannot get enough of me?” he asked with a chuckle.
“I fear I may be greedy and tire you out.”
She said it so seriously that Kaelan laughed. “Trust me, wife, that will never happen.”
“Don’t be so sure,” she said, poking him in the chest.
“Never ever,” he said, poking her in the side and laughed again.
She laughed, his finger tickling her. “I am relieved to know that.”
“Good, but tell me, who is Henry?”
