“Hey, you guys!” Zohar’s voice rang out from below, followed by a sharp whistle and an obnoxiously loud catcall. “Save the kissing for the Isle of the Pirates! We’ve got a galaxy to save!”

Laughter erupted around the airship.

Roam glanced down to see the others grinning up at them—Alice smirking, Adaline shaking her head, Bálint pretending to be scandalized, Phoenix pretend-fanning herself.

“Remind me to tackle him later,” Roam muttered, slinging an arm around Spring’s shoulders.

“Oh, you’ll have to beat me to it.” She grinned.

They headed down the path toward the gangplank, just as Drago raised his voice.

“I hope whichever Dragonlings landed on the Isle of the Pirates survive Ashure,” he said with a dramatic shudder.

Roam chuckled, exchanging a look with Spring. “This guy’s clueless,” he murmured. “A pirate versus a Dragonling? That’s not a fair fight.”

Spring snorted. “For the pirate.”

As they reached the deck, Roam turned one last time, looking out over the island—the cliffs, the city, and the woods where it had all changed.

Then he looked to the airship.

To his friends.

To Spring.

A wave of gratitude swelled in his chest.

He was alive.

He was with her.

And the adventure wasn’t over—it had only just begun.

He took Spring’s hand, fingers lacing tight.

Together, they stepped aboard the ship, ready for whatever came next.

The Dragonlings and The Pirate King’s Gambit:

The seas are wild. The enemy is ruthless. And the Dragonlings? They’re just getting started.

Amber and Jade have never been ones to follow the rules. Mischievous, inventive, and full of dragonfire-fueled curiosity, the twin dragonlings thrive on adventure—and chaos. So when a portal sends them skidding down the center of a cobblestone street in the heart of the Isle of the Pirates, it’s only fitting that they nearly crash into the boots of none other than Ashure Waves, the infamous and roguishly charming King of the Pirates.

Ashure knows trouble when he sees it—and these two pint-sized dragons come with gadgets, sass, and enough explosive energy to sink a fleet. But even he isn’t prepared for the storm that’s brewing.

A new threat has surfaced on the horizon: Blackheart, half-monster, half-pirate, with a ship carved from the bones of sea beasts—and revenge in his veins. Alongside him sails his twisted sister, Saldusa, a cunning sorceress with a stare that can turn enemies to salt. Together, they’re gathering the worst rogues and creatures of the sea to claim the Isle of the Pirates as their own.

When the island’s future is plunged into peril, Ashure finds himself with two unlikely allies—and an even unlikelier crew. Because if anyone can outsmart a mad pirate and his venomous twin, it’s Amber and Jade… with a little help from their friends, their dragons, and a few “experimental” devices that may or may not explode on contact.

The Dragonlings and the Pirate King’s Gambit

Chapter Thirty-Three

Amber’s eyes glowed with excitement. This was going to be the wildest adventure she, her sister, and the other Dragonlings had ever had—and they’d had some wild ones.
