“You have no idea.” I clench my fists in my lap.
“So what does this have to do with Hermes?”
“Hermes was asked by Zeus, as the god of thieves, to steal Io back from Hera but because of all the eyes, he couldn’t sneak up on him to steal her.”
“Someone snitched on him,” Raven says.
“Snitches get stitches.” I nod.
“If I remember correctly, this particular snitch got more than stitches,” Raven says with a giggle.
“Seriously, why did you set them off?” Jayden glares at Greyson through the rearview mirror.
“How was I supposed to know that was going to set them off?” Greyson asks, incredulous.
I cackle loudly. “Okay, well, anyway. Hermes couldn’t sneak up on him so he had to stone him and kill him.”
“He was stoned.” Raven giggles quietly and sets me off all over again.
“You two really are children, aren’t you?” Dax asks.
A loud smack rings out from the back of the SUV and Dax grunts in pain.
“I think they are hilarious.” Kira giggles.
“Figures, you, darling, are just as unhinged as they are,” Draven says.
“That’s the best kind of compliment.” I turn to Draven with a grin. “I like being unhinged. It’s way more fun than being normal.”
“Can we focus on the giant, please?” Jayden grips the wheel tighter. “He looks like he’s waiting for something.”
“Probably us. I’m sure queen bitchface sent him here finding out what happened somehow. She has eyes everywhere.” I glance back at the sky again.
Could she have birds following us even now? It’s possible. Anything is possible.
“Apollo could have told her. His part of the plan isn’t over as he said, I’m sure,” Adrian says. “That’s why he disappeared with Olly.”
Kira whimpers and turns her head away from the rest of us so we don’t see her emotions. I want to hug her and tell her we’ll find him, but she’s in the fourth seat back in the huge SUV.
“You had that massive vision about everything and you didn’t see where Olly is?” I ask Adrian.
“I did see,” he whispers. “I just can’t tell you what I saw. I’m sorry. It will put him and someone else in danger.”
“Who?” I ask, already knowing he won’t tell me.
“An innocent who shouldn’t even be a part of this world yet.” Adrian stares at me with an intensity like he’s trying to force me to put the pieces together on my own.
“No,” I whisper. “Don’t fucking tell us. We can’t risk her.”
“Who?” Raven asks.
“Oklahoma City Zoo,” I say.
“Oh yeah. We met her when we went after the shield. Don’t risk her. She’s too precious.” Raven crosses her arms over her chest.
“Can we please focus on the giant in front of us?” Jayden’s voice is strangled.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
