“Just be yourself... well, the calmer version of yourself, and you’ll be fine.” He chuckled before placing a kiss on my temple as a man approached us.

“Looking good, Sam,” the man greeted.

“’Preciate that, Coach,” he countered.

“Who do we have here?” He asked, looking at me.

“This is Cadence. Tink, this is my head coach, Coach Leon Briggs,” he introduced.

“Nice to meet you.” I shook his hand.

“You too young, lady. I must say, he did good and if you’re the reason for his recent behavior change, then you have all my respect.” He nodded.

“Come on, Coach. You act like I was such a bad nigga.” Titan feigned hurt.

“I’m just saying, son, but I’m proud of you, son,” he praised.

After he said a few more words to his coach, I turned and talked to Ava while the guys talked. She seemed nice enough to tolerate if I had to. I didn’t do well with females, that’s why Janae was my only friend.

I learned that she and Miles were high school sweethearts and had a six-year-old daughter, Mila (Mela). She showed me a few pictures on her phone, and she was adorable.

“She’s so cute,” I cooed.

“Mhm... just like her mama,” Ava praised.

We shared a laugh, and the guys came back over to be nosy.

“What y’all over laughing at?” Miles asked as he went to stand by his wife.

“None of your business,” Ava fired back. Miles leaned down and kissed her lips.

Titan circled my waist with his hand and leaned down to whisper in my ear. “You ’bout ready to go?” he asked.

“I’m ready whenever you are.” He nodded.

“Aye, I’m out. I’ve been down here long enough. I’m taking my ass upstairs to get out of these clothes,” he said to his friends.

He grabbed my hand and led us away from the crowd, but not before getting stopped by cameras.

“Titan, can we get a picture of you and the pretty lady?” a man asked.

“At least you had the decency to ask this time,” Titan uttered before pulling me in front of him and draping his arm around my waist, resting his hand on my stomach.

The guy took a few pictures of us before Titan told him that was enough. We got stopped by a few more reporters, but Malik blocked their path to us as we got on a private elevator.

“That was... interesting,” I stated as we rode the elevator.

“That wasn’t shit. Wait until the headlines hit in a few hours,” he said as the elevator stopped.

He nodded for me to step out first, and we walked into a beautiful penthouse suite.

“This is nice. Is it yours?” I asked.

“It damn sure ain’t this nigga’s.” He laughed pointing at Malik.

“Smartass.” I rolled my eyes.

He left Malik upfront and escorted me to the back, where we ended up in a bedroom. I noticed a lot of his things were here, so he had to frequent it a lot.
