“I’m straight,” I stated calmly because I was two seconds from pushing this bitch down.

“Oh, you think Cady wants your ass. That stuck up bi—”

Before she could call her a bitch, I squeezed her jaws together.

“Watch your fucking mouth. You’re worrying about the wrong shit. Instead, you should be worried about how to hydrate that dry ass pussy you keep tryna throw on a nigga.” I let her jaws go and turned to my boys.

“Aye, I’m out.”

I didn’t wait for them niggas to respond before I headed out the section with Graves following. I went to look for Stacksbefore I left and found him by the bar with Geno. Going into my pocket, I pulled out some bills and handed it to him.

“Give that to Ice’s dehydrated ass,” I said.

“The fuck you do?” He quizzed.

“Squeezed that hoe’s jaws for being reckless.” I shrugged.

“Nigga...” he stressed.

“Man, she’ll be alright. Give her that money and tell her to take it and get one of them pussy rejuvenating things.” Stacks, Geno, and Graves howled with laughter, but I was dead ass serious.

“Man, I’m out,” I said as I exited through the back.

When we got out back, I told Graves I was good, but of course he wasn’t going to leave until I did.

I got in my car and grabbed my phone and called the one person I couldn’t keep my mind off of.

“Hello?” Tink answered.

“You still up?” I asked.

“Yes. Janae just left not long ago. I was cleaning the kitchen,” she responded.

“You cooked?”

“Yeah,” she countered.

“Bet. I’m on my way.”

I hung up without giving her a chance to shut me down. I wanted to see her little ass tonight, and that’s just what I was going to do.

Chapter Fourteen

Cadence

I got up early today and went to see my mama since she told me she would be off today. I had a few things planned, so I wanted to get her out the way first. After I dressed, I grabbed my things and headed to her house across town. I made it just in time because she was in the middle of making lunch.

“Looks like I’m right on time,” I announced as I walked into the kitchen.

“I knew you weren’t going to make it until around this time. You knew you weren’t going to make it for breakfast,” she called me out.

“Well, at least you know,” I simpered. “I caught up on some much-needed rest,” I mentioned.

“Mhm... I bet you did. Your lack of rest wouldn’t have anything to do with that football player, would it?” She eyed me, and I felt like I just got caught missing curfew.

“Mama...” I started, but she cut me off.

“Don’t even try it. I had to find out through blogs and TV interviews that my daughter is rumored to be dating Titan Samuels. I saw your face plastered all over the screen from the game you attended,” she fussed.
