“Thanks, but no, fuck off,” I growl but instead of listening, she presses herself against me again, not deterred.

I turn and open my mouth, ready to threaten the bitch, but before I can say anything, I hear “Lavender!” shouted. The woman freezes and the voice snaps, “I told you that you weren’t allowed in the common room until you finished the jobs we are paying you for! Get back to the bedrooms and finish the cleaning now!”

Lavender locks eyes with me, pleading for me to keep her with me, and I shake my head.

Now why in the fuck would I go against my first lady for her?

She narrows her eyes before looking at the bar, then huffs and storms to where the rooms are down the hallway, following a pissed-off Alesia.

While the brothers, including me, have rooms down here, the prospects and club bunnies share the second floor.

I also have an office because of my techy ways, and a two-story Victorian-style dark blue home with a wraparound porch and a garage, next door to Cage’s house. His dad built it for him two miles from here, but still on club property behind the clubhouse.

All brothers have the choice to either build or stay in the rooms, unless they prefer to live off club property.

I roll my eyes at the way Lavender sways her hips, wearing only a G-string and bra, trying to entice me, I turn back to the bar because the woman is a stage five clinger.

I take a few big gulps of my scotch just as a body sits down next to me, angering me even further especially when it was obvious that I just told Lavender to piss off.

I turn, ready to snap at whoever the fuck it is and tell them to get lost, but instead I raise a brow at the angry pixie-sized woman wearing a scowl on her pretty face.

“What’s up, buttercup? Find another snake in your car?” I ask with a smirk, and Clark narrows her mesmerizing dark green eyes at me, making it really hard not to laugh.

The woman is five feet five and definitely not scary, though she is gorgeous. Her bangs are always a little too long, her freckles cover her nose, and her body is one a man dies to grab hold of but scary is not one of her features. She’s too sweet and joyful, like a buttercup. Hence, the nickname that I gave her when she was eight.

“One, that was just plain mean, and you know it, Trick. I loved that car. I paid for that car all by myself. Two, my big brother decided to interrupt my date, so I’m pissed,” she growls, and I raise a brow.

A weird tightening in the pit of my stomach that I can’t understand at the word date churns, but I ignore it like I always do where she is concerned and ask, “Who was the date with?”

I know Crash, he wouldn’t do something like that unless the guy was a jackass or dangerous. He respects his sister too much, even if she’s eighteen, that and school has always been her focus, her desire to become a nurse being her priority. Fuck, her and her best friend Belle made a pact to become nurses together, so her accepting a date with anyone is a big deal.

Wait, does that mean she’s in love with him?

Fuck my stomach just dropped yet again.

“Brad, the quarterback,” she grumbles, “At first, I’ll admit, I was hesitant. I hadn’t dated before, and he’s, I guess, cute in the boy-next-door way. But one minute, Brad is flirting with me, and the next, after returning from the bathroom, he’s storming out without a word to me, a face like thunder. Then I saw my brother and realized what had happened.”

“Did he tell you why?” I question as I give her my whole attention, but she shakes her head, and I frown.

Huh, weird.

Shaking my head, I grab my phone from my cut, and I bring up Crash’s number and put it on speaker.

“Let me guess, my little sister is there, most likely getting traumatized by the brothers' fucking, but is too mad to care?” he answers without saying hello, and Clark narrows her eyes.

“She’s pissed brother, you didn’t explain why you ruined herfirstdate,” I say, empathizingfirstand Crash sighs.

“I walked out of the office at the diner and overheard this dick gloating about how he managed to bag a date with theunattainable club princess and how he was going to win the bet to see if she’s still a virgin,” he admits and I wince looking at Clark whose mouth is parted in shock.

“Okay, so the fucker is dead and he most definitely won’t be making it into the league,” I mutter and Crash hums in agreement as anger for her shoots through me.

“Alright brother, I’ll speak to her,” before I hang up and murmur, “Clark?” just as my eyes blur a little and the room spins slightly but I quickly blink then frown in confusion.

What the fuck what that?

Clark growls and I look at her just as she picks up my scotch glass then downs the rest of the contents which is more than half the glass and I raise a brow at her as she coughs a little and puts the glass back down.

“What was that?” she coughs as she pats her chest and I grin.
