Derek shook his head. “I don’t think so.” He looked at Gideon. “I turned down Nicky today. I washardand I still turned him down… like I wasn’t into it, mentally… emotionally. I’ve never turned down sex with Nicky or… fuck… anyone, really.”
Gideon chuckled softly. “You reallyarefalling for Patrick.”
“What do you mean?”
“When your heart begins dominating your southern region, you know it’s serious.”
“So…” Derek frowned, uncertain. “If I can’t have Patrick… I don’t want anyone?”
“Sounds like it to me.”
“But I can neverhavePatrick… even if he agrees to see me again.”
“If it comes to that, then your heart and yourmanhoodwill need to have a long hard discussion.”
Derek laughed low. “Nice.”

Patrick’s face filled his mind… and his heart thumped faster.

Derek trembled at the thought, experienced a bit of fear, but understood it was a valid thought. Gideon was right—he was falling for Patrick.Hard.And if Patrick let him back in, even just a little bit… there would be no coming back from it.
