“Care said that you guys would that night, I said tonight.” I then laugh. “Please tell me it wasn’t that night.” He shakes his head; I just look over at him. “Fuck, and she had that shitty, smug ass smirk when they just pulled up, so Ella told her already.” He groans.

“What do you owe her?”

“Believe me, you do not want to know.” He just shakes his head.

The door bursts open, as Liv and Eliza come rushing out, running over to the boys, who look at them like they’ve lost their minds. A flow of people then walks out of the doors. When Caroline walks out, she definitely has the smug look that Ash was just talking about, and then over to us. “What are you guys talking about?” She asks as Ash just shakes his head.

“Care, are you gloating that you won?” I ask her as she laughs, looking back over to him.

“You do know! I expect payment by the end of the week.”

“Woman.” He warns her, causing me to laugh and turning away, catching eyes with Ella. Glancing over to them I just shake my head back to her. Blush consumes her face as she glances away from my eyes and when she looks back up, she’s trying to not smirk, I can tell that she’s slightly biting onto her lip. Her reaction draws a reaction out of me before I can stop it. I shouldn’t be getting fucking hard at a goddamn repast, for her father none the less.

“No,” I hear shouted from the door as I look back, seeing Remy stomp down the stairs as Ace chases after her.

“Remy,” he calls back to her. “Just come inside and let’s talk.”

“No!” she shouts again as everyone looks around. The kids still play at our sides, completely oblivious to what is going on. “Go ahead, let everyone hear. We’re all family here, right? What the fuck happened? Where the fuck have you been? You were dead?”

“Fine.” He shouts at her, staring right at her as he speaks. “That’s the thing. I wasn’t.”

“What?”

“I wasn’t dead.”

“No shit.” She shouts at him. “You made me promise that if anything happened, I would leave. I felt like I had to.”

“I’m not upset with you for leaving, Baby.” He tells her as he steps forward. My eyes leave from where they’re arguing as I notice Ella is no longer outside with the rest of us.

“And it saved your life.” He tells her. “If you would have stayed, you would have been hanging around the hospital and they probably wouldn’t have been able to stop him before he got to you.” Looking around, I’m positive that she didn’t walk back into the clubhouse. Slowly, I make my way around the group, and I slink back. “It took me weeks to recover, and I knew that if I came back, it would only bring all that shit on you. He was going to follow me. So, I stayed away to protect you guys. The feds actually put me up. I was like in witness protection.”

“It doesn’t matter.” She shouts at him.

“I know, I’m sorry. Now that I’m here. Well, the feds told me they wouldn’t protect me if I came back, but I had to…” I glance down the path not really sure if it’s where she came or not, but trying to figure out where it is she disappeared to. The further I make it away from the group, the quieter the Ace’s explanation gets. “He will find out that I left, and he is going to…” I move down the path out of view of everything and the conversation fades into the background, but I still don’t see her. She’s not at the house when I get there, wondering where she could have been, realizing that I’m an idiot.

Coming into the clearing, I shake my head as she stands looking towards the airport. Secretly hoping that we don’t get the cops called again. “Babydoll, you can’t just run off like that.” I call out to her as I walk closer to her. She wipes at her face quickly. “Hey what’s wrong?” Then shaking my head. “Ugh, sorry. That’s a stupid question. I know with everything…”

“Yeah, everything.” She mumbles before she turns around again. Standing and looking at her back for a moment before I step up and wrap my arms around her, bringing her into me. I feel her small hand grab onto my arm as I continue to hold her. “Please. don’t.” She whispers out.

“What?”

“Don’t.” She repeats herself as she tries and pushes me off.

“Don’t what?”

“Just don’t…” she breaks out of my grasp and walks forward.

“Ella, stop.” I demand her. My tone causes her to stop. “I know today is hard. You don’t have to pretend to be strong all the time.” Turning around, she looks up at me and pauses.

“Fuck me.” The words shock me as she says them.

“No.” I shake my head, looking at her.

“Why?” She steps into me, going to grab my cock, but I grip a hold of her wrist and look back at her.

“Because not everything can be fixed by pushing those feeling deep down and fucking to forget.”

“I’d beg to differ.” She laughs.
