“It’s fine.”

“They said you got lucky it was close to severing some nerves and tendons…” I shrug at her.

“Hey…” comes from our side and we look over. “My two favorite women.” He smiles before I shake my head. Nancy pats my leg before she gets up and walks out of the room.

“Where’d she go?” He asks with a smile on his face.

“To let us talk for a bit.”

“Ahh, I see.” He laughs.

“Yeah, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not.” He laughs again.

“Ella, I remember everything.”

“You do?”

“Yes, I do. I was not the one who was drugged.”

“And you don’t hate me?” I whisper.

“Nope.” He smiles. “Come here.” He slides over slightly as I trudge to the bed. Sitting down next to him, making sure not to pull anything, and he pulls me into him.

I still feel bad as I lean against him. “I can’t remember where.” I tell him, honestly.

“Here.” he moves on the bed, pulling his gown up without an inch of hesitation. I guess it is only me in the room and I’ve seen his dick enough times as it is.

“Shit, I’ve scarred you.” I whimper out, making him laugh again.

“Babydoll, you scarred me long before this.” he laughs again. I wrinkle my nose, not liking what he’s implying, but also not being able to stop myself from laughing. “You’re the one who taught me that scars aren’t always ugly.” Leaning in, he kisses my nose.

“Still…” I glare at him as a wide grin spreads across his face.

“Marcella, I’m in love with you. You’re going to need to do a lot worse than a little stabbing to get rid of me.” I can’t help but laugh out as I feel tears threatening to fall down.

“Goddamn Carter, you have some fucking lines, don’t you?” I whimper out as I try to choke back a sob that’s threatening to escape. He laughs out as he gently grabs hold of my face, leaning in and kissing me.

“Always for you.”

“Yay!” Jag shouts as he runs up to us and latches around Axe’s neck. “Daddy, I missed you. Pick me up.” He calls to him and I shake my head.

“No, Bug, Daddy can’t right now.” I tell Jag as I hear a low growl come from Axe, but when looking over to him I know he’s not growling over me, telling Jag he can’t pick him up.

“But…” he whines as I shake my head.

“I’m fine. El.” Axe tells me.

“No, the doc said not for at least 2 weeks and not until you’re cleared.”

“Ella.” He whines, causing me to laugh.

“No,” I tell him before he laughs again. “Come on, anyway. We are heading somewhere.”

“Where?”

“To meet your grandma.” His eyes light up as Axe and I move to his Jeep… or I should say the Jeep that has replaced Axe’s Jeep, which crashed into a tree.

“I’m kind of sad.” I tell him as we walk up. “That other one had a lot of memories.” He laughs before I walk around, putting Jag in the car seat, handing him his headphones, and then opening the driver’s side door.

“Always time to make new ones.” He laughs again. “You know, that’s pretty much what I told Ash before I brought it over when you got back. The possibility, that was where he was conceived.” I blush as I shake my head.

“Nah, I’m pretty sure it was the bike.” He laughs out. “And even if it wasn’t… that’s what I’m going with.”

“I also said that one as well, but at least we still have that. And that’s what we are goingwith.”

When we pull up to the beach house, we get Jag out of the Jeep and walk inside. It’s something I promised Nancy that we would do before she left the hospital the last time.
