I can’t fall asleep as my mind racks through what may be going on with her, none of which I like the answer to.
I do not know what happened since I saw her last.
Once the house is quiet and the sun has fully risen, I gently move her to lie on the bed without me and I move out of the room. Quickly walking back to my room, hoping that I don’t run into anyone.
Blaze opens the door as I pass, and I freeze.
“Anyone go in there behind you?” He asks, nodding to the bathroom.
“Nah, man. You’re good.” He’s still fucked up from last night and probably won’t even remember this when he actually wakes up.
Pulling out my phone, I send Ella a text so when she wakes up and sees that I’m not there, at least she won’t think that I just completely dipped out.
Me:I just left, Babydoll. I wish I could have stayed later, but I thought that the risk of someone seeing was too much. Please take care of yourself and I meant what I said last night. I’m here if you need anything at all. Please, just let me know.
But she and Oz are gone by the time I wake up later. And she doesn’t text me back.
For some reason, this upsets me. Especially since the last time that she didn’t text me back when I finally saw her again. She was half-comatose.
