As we close in the distance, I see the passenger door open, and Caroline looks over. “Axe, catch.” She shouts, causing me to stop completely in my tracks as I hear keys being caught and a grumble. He doesn’t look at any of us, just walks over to the BMW, starting it, backing out, and heading in the direction of Sonston’s End. I’m not sure why I stopped, it’s not like he would even remember me.

“Ro, help me put the bike in the back.” Ash calls out. Ro helps me up into the cab of the truck then moves to help Ash load up his bike.

“How did you two meet?” Caroline asks me, glancing back.

“Um, I woke up and he was there.”

“What?” She laughs out.

“At the Marauders clubhouse. I was passed out in J’s room, not completely by choice, but I woke up and he was there.”

“Hmm.” She exhales and I look forward. “What do you mean not completely by choice?”

“I went there once, I was in a bad place, mentally.” She nods her head, understanding. “I was mourning and didn’t realize that I was taking pain killers with my drinks.”

“Dick bags,” she exclaims. Her choice of words makes me laugh out and I agree. The doors open and I catch eyes with Ro as he slips into the backseat of the truck. I slide to the middle, he smirks over at me as he shuts the door, I’m sure because I’m not putting as much distance as I can between us, fastens his seatbelt, and nods for me to do the same. Ash maneuvers the truck out of the parking spot as he laughs. “Oh yeah, Sadie this is my husband, Ash. Ash this is Ro’sfriendSadie.” Caroline introduces me. “Who also ran him off the road tonight to make him pull over.” I can hear Ash laugh out as he turns out onto the main road.

Ro catches my eyes as he smirks at me, and before I let myself think about it, I let myself lean up against him. I feel him tense for a second before he eases, and Irelax further into his body. His arm comes up around my body, creating a pocket for me to lean into.

I’m jolted awake as the truck continues to move, and open my eyes. I see the gate in front of us, opening. I, apparently, moved to hold Ro’s hand at some time in my nap. But seeing the grounds of the Midnight Syn’s clubhouse. It causes me to tighten my grip on his hand. I can feel him move around as he looks down at me. He leans in, and whispers. “What’s wrong, Nightmare?”

Caroline’s snores would normally make me laugh, if I wasn’t nearing a panic attack.

I shake my head telling him that I don’t want to talk about it and can feel him sit back again until we move over to the cliff and the incredible view that Caroline and Ash’s house has.

The truck slows to a stop and Ash kills the engine. I watch him as he gets out of the driver’s seat and walks around the truck opening Caroline’s door, and picks her up. Instinctually, she rolls into his body, wrapping her arms around his neck. He turns to Ro and me as we slide out of the back seat and chuckles. “Spare room downstairs.” Ro nods his head as Ash turns to walk away.

Ro leads me into the gorgeous house and through the living room. Ash breaks off as he carries, a still sleeping, Caroline up the stairs to put her to bed. Ro continues to lead me by my hand into the kitchen before he turns, and I can see the staircase heading downstairs to the basement. At the end of the stairs there’s a hallway and he veers off to the left.

He closes the door behind me, and pulls off his kutte, setting it down on the dresser. I’m a little surprised as he pulls his shirt off over his head and looks over at me, holding his hand out, asking me if I want it. “Maybe you’d be more comfortable?” I slowly nod my head. His hand grazes mine as I grasp at the shirt, he walks into the bathroom. I slip off my jeans, then followed by my shirt, and shoving my head in the hole of his shirt, then walking over to the bed.

As he slides into the bed I move over next to him, lying directly beside him, looking up. “Thank you for telling me.” He shifts uncomfortable, I can’t really say the I don’t understand. When you tell someone something like that… you hope that they just take in all the information and not have any questions after the fact. I won’t ask him anything else, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have questions.

“I’m sorry for what happened.” He whispers, I can hear the pain in his voice.

“I guess we’re both kind of fucked up.” I can feel his mood shift as I say that and he reaches over, wrapping his arm around me.

“I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“I was only scared because I didn’t think that was who you are and for a moment, I thought that I had made a misjudgment again, that I couldn’t trust anything I thought. I came after you because of your reaction. I knew I was right all along, I didn’t know what all it was about, but I knew that it was something else.” Even in the dark room I see him look down at me and can read his eyes. “You’re an asshole, but you would never hurt me. At least like that.” A smirk spreads slowly on his face. We lie, not saying anything, just quietly looking at one another. “I don’t want to be like this.” I finally whisper out as I feel the tears starting to slip. I’m not sure if it’s being here… it’s all too much for me. He pulls me into him as I sob out, not being able to hold back the emotions any longer. “I just wanted it to stop hurting.”

“What do you want to stop hurting?” He quietly asks me.

“Everything.” My voice sounds like I’m pleading, and I probably am, with whoever will listen. “I just wanted to numb the pain. The heartache that was ripping through me. And it worked, but now every time I try to stop not only does everything inside hurt, but everything externally hurts as well.”

“What heartache?” He looks down at me, wanting to understand.

I let out a shaky breath before my sobs break through again. “He died.” It’s a whisper before I feel him pulling me in close to him, surprised that he doesn’t ask for more of an explanation.

Chapter Eleven

SADIE

“Baby Girl.” I hear him say to me as I look to where he’s lying, on his back with his head on the pillows. His bed looks just as it always has, and he motions with his index and middle fingers for me to come towards him. Climbing up onto the bed, I move across it until I straddle his hips, and he smirks up at me again. His hands are on my hips, and he slides me onto his cock, tossing my head back as he fills me.

I notice the bed shift behind me, but I can’t glance over as I start to ride him. This all feels familiar, his head should toss back as he pumps inside of me, but it doesn’t. Instead, he’s looking right past me as I feel a new set of hands on my hips. “You ready, Nightmare?” Ro’s voice doesn’t belong in this. But I don’t argue with it.

Nodding my head, he chuckles behind me before I feel the tip of his cock nudging my cheeks apart, and I whimper under his touch. I feel his slick tip start to press into me and I moan out.
