“Brother, you don’t have to explain it to me…” He nods out the backdoor to where Lucy is holding Eliza. “Married her in under a year. Best thing I’ve ever done.” He smirks as he continues to look at his family with awe in his eyes.

“Still so weird how all of this turned out.” It causes Fury to laugh as I look back over to Ella who still sits with Sadie, still asleep, on the couch.

“Addicts take a lot of work though.”

“I don’t think she’s an addict. She currently has an addiction.” He nods his head. “It has been added to my vendetta towards J and his fucking club.”

“Like you needed anything else for that.”

His words are true as I look to him then hearing shuffling from the couch.

“Ro.” Ella calls over to me before I move back into the living room.

Walking around the couch, I crouch down as her eyes flutter open.

“Heya, Nightmare.” Brushing my knuckles along her jaws and I watch as her lips barely turn upward.

“What happened?” She whispers as she looks down, seeing the IV in her arm.

“You passed out.”

“You scared me.” Ella says from behind me, and I can’t help but see the slight nervousness in her eyes. I send her a questionable glance.

“Sorry, I’m not sure what happened.” She quietly says. Raising my eyebrow at her she sighs again. “That’s a lie. I guess the detox is harder than I thought it would be.” I have a feeling that is also somewhat of a lie, but I let her have it, for now.

“Detox?” Ella asks and Sadie looks away, embarrassed.

“El,” Fury calls for her before he nods towards the kitchen, and she takes the hint before walking away.

“What happened?” I look down to her, questioning.

“Ro, I need to get out of here.” She looks up at me, and I can see the tears behind her eyes. I’ll wait until later to ask her about it more.

“Okay,” I look up at the IV bag and sigh, “let’s just get some fluids in you and then we’ll head out.”

I see her shock before she looks towards the kitchen and whispers. “You’re not going to ask me why I need to get out of here?”

“If you want to tell me you can, but you don’t have to.” Starting to stand up before I feel her hand on my arm.

“Thank you, Ro.” Looking down, I can see the shame written all over her face, and I have a feeling about what it is she’s holding back, but I won’t force it out of her.

“Of course, Nightmare.” She smirks at the nickname and looks away.

Fury removes the IV drip from Sadie’s arm and then nods to me to follow him into the kitchen. “I got these after you asked.” He hands me a bottle of pills. “It’ll help with the withdrawal, if you need them.” I nod my head again. “However, what you guys did last night works as well.” It causes me to send him questioning look. “It can help with the body aches, nausea.” Nodding my head, he hands me a small clear bag, similar to the one Caroline brought with her last night. “My gift to you guys. Keep her hydrated. Tomorrow may be bad, if it is give me a call. I can come out there and give her another.”

“Thanks man, I honestly think that today may have been just stress.” He looks at me curiously and I shrug. “I’m not exactly sure what’s going on.”

Leaving the compound, the sun has already set and I’m not sure where all the time of this day has gone. Sadie’s arms are wrapped around me as I head down the trail, then merging on the main road, heading back to the clubhouse.

The tapping on my side starts shortly after we leave the city limits, causing me to pull the bike over before she jumps off the back. The helmet falls to the dirt as soon as her feet touch the dirt, and she rushes a few hundred feet from where the bike sits.

Turning the key to the bike, killing the engine, I kick off of it. Removing my own helmet before picking hers off of the ground and sitting them both on the seat. Walking the distance to her, I expect her to be dramatic, screaming out, dropping down to her knees, and sobbing uncontrollably, but none of that happens. She just stands, staring off in the opposite direction.

“Sadie.” I say her name in a calm tone, making sure not to come across as anything but supporting her and whatever this is she’s dealing with. She moves her head, just enough to acknowledge me, but not enough to even look back. “Sadie, are you okay?” She sighs out, and I think I see her shoulder bounce in a chuckle. Which concerns me more.

Turning around, I can see the water in her eyes as she looks up at me. “Not even a little.” It’s a whisper, before the water breaks through its barrier and starts to slide down her cheeks.
