“I’m going to give him a choice. He can either leave and we both forget he was ever here; he never speaks of this again in his life. If he does, there will be consequences, or…” I trail off and she nods her head.

“He can prospect?”

“Yeah.”

She nods her head again before a smirk comes on her face. “But if he comes back with us, you’re going to make sure he knows you’ve peed a circle around me.”

I can’t help but laugh out as she says it and I lean in, kissing her cheek. “I’m positive I don’t need to tell anyone that for them to know it, Nightmare.” I turn around and nod for him to follow me to the main floor.

“What you want us to do with the tats once we’re done?”

Stopping, I think for a second before smirking again. “Replace the patches with them. Start with the club patch on the back. Stretch them out if you need to make them fit.” Then I turn back towards the kid, and we walk up the stairs.

“That’s kind of fucked up.” Cooper says as we walk up the steps to the main floor.

“It is what it is.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means, it’s fucking payback.” He looks at me questioning my comment and I point up the scar on my neck.

“What the fuck?”

“Had someone cut it off when I was locked up.” I laugh. “Apparently, I wasn’t getting them covered up fast enough… I was in fucking prison and my back took for goddamn ever.”

“How did you get rid of it?”

“Blacked it out.”

“That sucks.” He mumbles to really himself before he looks back at me.

“I’m working on getting the logo for this one in white ink overtop.” I say I think I hear some words ofapproval, but I don’t really give a shit and push the door open walking out onto the starting line. “I bought this place 17 years ago. Just a dumb kid and a dream.” He laughs. “Before the MC. This place,” I throw my hands up spinning in a circle until I look back at him. “It’s the only reason why the MC ever came to me. They fucking came to me about joining.”

“Why did you?”

“I wanted to feel like I belonged to something. I thought I had just lost the love of my life, and I just wanted something…” He nods his head like he understands. “Cooper, this is how I see this all working out. You can skate out right now. Forget about ever seeing us, ever seeing this place, but this is your only free pass.”

“What’s the other choice?”

“Stay, go back to LA with us. You can prospect for us. After your time you’ll most likely earn your rockers.”

“Most likely?”

“Who knows, really. I mean this life isn’t for the weak and sure as fuck isn’t guaranteed.”

“And Sadie?” he asks.

“What about Sadie?”

“If I leave—”

I cut him off quickly with a laugh. “Sadie is more than capable of leaving whenever she wants too. I’m not forcing her to be here… well that’s not entirely true, I did handcuff her to the bed once for a week, but that’s a different story.” He cuts his eyes at me making me laugh. “It helped with the getting her clean part.”

“Her eyes do look a lot clearer.” Then he pauses and looks at me, curiously. “Are the two of you like, together?”

“Yeah.” He’s quiet for a moment and I realize why he was in the clubhouse trying to get her out. “Normally, I wouldn’t do this. Normally, you would have ended up in the same scenario as your friends. This is simply for her.”

“Oh…” He trails, I’m sure not really sure what he was thinking of saying.
