“I mean, of course. I do love him. I never wanted to do any of this, I just wanted one night…”
“If you want him back, then we’ll get him back.” He kisses me again. “I promise.”

Glancing over as my hand rests on the steering wheel, I see her staring out the window. I can see the fear on her from here. Reaching over, I grip onto her knee bringing her back into the car as she looks over at me.
“You know what you’re going to say?”
“No idea.” She whispers, her hand shaking as it rests on mine, pulling it to me, placing a kiss on it, she smiles.
“Just be honest with them. They’ll understand.” I try and encourage her, but I’m not sure how they will react, if it’s anything like they reacted last time it won’t end well.
It would be best if they didn’t react like that again, at least this time they know we’re coming.
Pulling into the driveway, she squeezes my hand before she pushes the door open and moves out of the car.
Meeting her in front of the car, holding her hand then we walk up to the door, hand in hand. I can see her mother peering out of the blinds as we make our way up the steps to the front of the house. I see her freeze at my side, so I knock on the door, which instantly opens.
Her mother is looking at us, curiously, before she moves back from the door, letting us in.
We stand in the entryway, in silence, for moments that seem to drag on, but I refuse to be the first one to speak. “You’re not moving back in here again.” Comes from behind us as I glance behind me to see Sadie’s father standing in the doorway.
“I wasn’t planning on it.” She pauses for a moment. “I really just need some of my things.” She explains as her hand nearly crushes mine.
“You mean, mythings.” Her father cuts out at her through his teeth.
“It’s all still in your room.” Her mother whispers to us disregarding her father. I can’t get a good read on her mother. “I haven’t touched anything.” She whispers to her, somehow softer now then she was last time.
“Can I see him?” Sadie sounds so afraid to even ask her parents. Her mother sifts from one foot to the other.
Her mother’s eyes widen and I’m not sure why until I hear her father begin to speak from behind us. “He’s not here.”
“What?” Sadie snaps, looking back to him.
“We knew you were coming so we took him to a sitter.”
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” I think the words as Sadie shouts them at her father.
“We need to know that you’re sticking around.” Her mother tells her, seeming like she’s trying to calm down the situation. “Luke why don’t you take a breather. Let her get some of her stuff together and calm down.” He mother motions for her to walk back towards the hallway which I am assuming that her childhood room is on.
It’s weird going into someone’s childhood house, especially when you’re trying to have whatever this is between her and I. As her door opens, I can’t help but smirk at the posters lining the wall. She sighs as she walks in and I uncomfortably sit down on the bed, waiting for her. She opens her closet door and sighs as she pulls out some clothes shoving it into her bag and looks up at me. The water lining her lids makes me pull her into me and rub her arms.
“Ro,” She whispers, “They didn’t even want me to see him. There’s no way that I can even talk about trying to get him back after that.”
“What?” the gasp comes from the door as we both look over and her mother turns to walk out of the doorway. Sadie reaches for a few things as she rushes out the door. I’m sure she assumes that she won’t get another chance back in here to grab anything.
I’m following after her as she walks through the house after her mother. As we both round the corner I see her mother dramatically sitting on the couch with her head against the arm rest and her father standing next to her. His eyes filled with rage as he turns around and looks at us.
I just shake my head telling him to calm his shit down.
He lays one fucking hand on her, I don’t give a shit who he is, I will make sure he never does again. “You have the goddamn audacity to try and take him back after all of this time you just dropped off the earth.”
