“Let me get this straight. You got fucking knocked up and never fucking told him? Don’t you think he had a right to know? A right to help fucking decide what you were going to do.” I want to explain to her, but I also know that at this moment nothing that I say is going to stop her from being pissed off at me, which means that she won’t listen to anything, and it’s best if I let her go home and cool off for a while. “What you don’t have anything to fucking say about that? Go fucking figure.” She shouts at me stepping closer to me.

“Ella, it doesn’t matter what I say, right now. You’re not ready to hear it.” I sigh again starting to turn to walk back over to where Ro is when I glance back at her. “When you’re ready. You know where to find me.”

I meet Ro’s eyes as I turn and he gives me a smirk, but I can read it in his eyes that he’s proud of me. “Shit.” He mutters as his eyes widen and he starts to move towards me before I feel the sensation of falling forward and someone shoving against my back.

My face smacks the ground hard, and I can hear a crunch from my nose as I gasp out in pain. Ro yells out words that I can’t quite make out in front of us, and Axe responds.

“Goddamnit, Ella!” I can hear Axe shout towards me again before my hair tugs against my scalp and I’m sure she’s going to slam my head into the ground again. A taste of dirt and blood mix in my mouth.

“You’re so fucking— AH.” She’s screaming, and I just want the pain to stop on my scalp as I’m sure she’s ripped hair out, giving us matching wounds. I see Ro’s boots next to my face as he’s reaching down to help me up. Standing up, I see Caroline and Ash both walking out of the house and watching what is happening. Both of their mouths hanging open.

“What the fuck? Let her, the fuck, go?” Axe yells at her and finally my scalp feels relief. Right before my face smacks the ground again, Ro catches my arm and helps me up.

“Shit…” He gasps as he sees my face and I reach up to my throbbing nose and wipe blood from dripping into my mouth. Looking at my hand and surprised with the amount. Spitting out the amount that’s forming in my mouth already as I look back at her.

“You’re just like all the rest of them in that goddamn city. All of you are the fucking same.” I see the tears forming in her eyes, and I step forward, still not blaming her for her anger at me, right now.

“You know I’m not like the rest of them.” I whisper to her.

An evil laugh rips through her as she looks back at me. “You are Sadie. You fucking use everyone for what you fucking want and don’t give a shit who it hurts in the process. I confided in you. I fucking trusted you.” Her tears springing from her lids.

“I never told him anything you told me.”

She laughs again. “Like that really fucking matters.” She snaps at me before she starts to lunge at me again and Axe grabs her around the waist.

“We’re gonna go.” He tells me as she tries to fight him off of her.

“Stop.” She screams, and she shoves his arms off of her.

“Marcella.” He snaps at her causing her to completely stop moving, and she looks up at him. “We are leaving.”

“Shit.” I hear Caroline’s voice at my side as she touches my arm. “We need to get you cleaned up before he sees you like this.” She starts to move me away from her house and back in the direction of the clubhouse. She pushes the door open and walks me upstairs, pushing a code into the door, and walking me into what I’m assuming is Ash’s room here.

She sits me down on the chair before she moves into the bathroom. I can hear her collecting things before she walks back out.

“Told you, she’d be pissed.”

“Just give her time to calm down.” She reassures me. I look away from her as I feel my eyes starting to fill up with tears. “Sadie.” Caroline whispers to me before pulling me in and letting me cry onto her shoulder.

“I really fucked up.”

“Life is fucking messy. But eventually, we figure our shit out.”

Chapter Twenty-Seven

SADIE

The knocking on the front door surprises me. Ro left to go out on a run this morning and no one usually comes by, unless it’s Sky. And the only other time anyone has shown up was when my mother came by.

I’m even more surprised when I see Ella standing on the other side. It’s only been a couple of days since the incident at the Midnight Syn grounds and I’m surprised that she came around so quickly.

“Uh,” I can’t think of anything to say.

“I’m ready.” She presses her lips into a line, clearly still pissed at me, and I nod, moving over, and letting her into the house. We stand in the living room, awkwardly, as if we have no idea how to act around one another.

I don’t want to be the first one to start talking mostly because I’m not sure how much she wants to know. “Where is he?” She asks, looking around.

“He’s with my mom.” I tell her, sighing before I admit the rest. “I fucked up after everything. I’m in the process of getting my life back together.” She nods her head, understanding.
