“Oh ugh, we’re a few minutes behind.” I hear Tally call down to me and I murmur out a couple of barely coherent words before I sigh looking down at her, not wanting to pull out of her, but knowing that I have to.

There aren’t footsteps retreating or the door closing and when I glance back, I can see him standing on the stairs, as if he’s waiting for me. “Uh, I’ll be right there.” I tell him before I hear a oh right and then he leaves.

Shaking my head, I look back down at Sadie who smiles, and she nods her head. “We should go.”

“We should.” I lean into her kissing her once more before I let my grip on her go. She stands up, righting herself as I tuck my dick back into my jeans, and zip them up, then pulling the hoodie up over my head, I hand it over to her, shrugging. “It’s going to get cool, soon.”

“Thank you.” She leans up onto her toes and kisses me once more before I lace my fingers with hers and start to move back up the stairs.

Walking out the door to the stairwell, I’m confused as we start to make our way over to the stands and I hear Ash’s voice echoing through the warehouse. I glance over and see Caroline with a huge smirk on her face as she watches him.

“Ya know, Ro and I didn’t always get along. Right, I bet everyone’s like oh, different clubs that’s to be expected…” He trails off and I have no fucking clue where he’s going with it.

“What the fuck?” I laugh as I shout over at him.

“Oh shit, the king has returned.”He is a fucking idiot.“Where have you two been?” He looks over at us as I shake my head walking Sadie over to the stands, kissing her, before I turn around and walk back over to where Ash is standing with the microphone.

“I hate you, so much.” He laughs out as he tosses the mic back to me and walks off.

I never really remember what I say into the mic as I talk but more so ramble out, but when I announce Caroline everyone cheers… I mean the girls only come out a few times a decade. I’m preparing for her to do her classic move where she stands up on the door as she goes and gets the headset camera on and gets mic’d up but stops short. “Man, I’m getting way to fucking old for that shit.” The crowd laughs before she moves over to the stands and kisses Ash. Then she rushes back over to the car and slides across the hood, laughing as she gets up. “I’ve always wanted to do that.” And then Billie comes out.

I say some more pointless shit that no one will really remember, and I head over to the controls. I watch from the opposite side of the stands when I feel her come up to me, placing her hand on my back. “Come here.” I motion for her, pulling her body in between my arms as I watch over her shoulder. The beeping of the countdown starts, the cars all rev their engines causing the hanger to vibrate, and the loud beep sounds before the cars launch from the starting line.

We watch as they come up to the first intersection and Cooper blocks off the one side. As soon as they pass, he starts to back track to the warehouse.

Second intersection, Enzo and Wreck block the intersection, seconds before the cars make it there.

“How do they know when they’ll be there?” She whispers to me.

“Trackers on the cameras. They have devices with them that tells them when the cars are getting close. Block the intersection, and then move out quickly.”

“And people don’t get mad?”

“Sure, but what are they going to do about it?”

“Call the cops.”

“Baby, we’re in the desert. By the time the cops get out here we’ll all be gone. Worse comes to worse, we have the tunnel.”

?

It’s not surprising at all when Billie’s headlights slide around and head into the hanger, Caroline nearly on her bumper. At least this time Care won’t jump out of the window and threaten to kill anyone.

As soon as Billie moves to the finish line the alarms start to sound. “What’s that?” Sadie turns around, looking at me, her eyes wide.

“Go.” I nod to her. “Get out of here.”

“Ro!” She shouts, looking up at me with a concerned look on her face.

I pull her to me quickly, and lean into her, pressing my lips to her hard, causing the whole world to slow down for a few moments. It manages to set her more on edge than it settles her because she can tell that it isn’t a reassuring kiss, it’s more of a just in case this is the last time. Pulling away from her, I lean my forehead against hers. “Sadie, go. I’ll be behind you. Trust me. You’re not getting rid of me that easily.”

I watch the smile spread a little on her face. “Okay.” She whispers.

“Okay, I have to close everything up, I’m parked in the mountain. I’ll be fine.” She nods to me as I see Ella standing, waiting for her.

Billie and Care don’t even come to a complete stop before there’s smoke and I’m sure there will be slight tire marks left behind. The girls are out of the building before any of the other cars even make it inside.

“Go get Linc. I’ll meet you at the house.” She leans up onto her toes, kisses me once more before she turns around, and rushes back over to where Ella is.
