“I — I don’t know.”

“Because, yet again, you’re denying yourself what you want?”

“Drew, there are things —”

“Shut up.”

Turning around, he finally looks at me, his eyebrows rising, a slight smirk on his lips, loving when I give him attitude.

“You think you can’t have me.”

He nods his head.

“But you want me?”

Again, he just nods his head.

“Then why don’t you give yourself what you want?”

“Sketch, I…” he trails off as if he isn’t sure what to say. “I don’t deserve you.”

“Isn’t that for me to decide?”

“No,” he looks up at me. “There are things you don’t —”

“I don’t care.” I tell him honestly. “We all have our secrets. How ‘bout this?” I whisper, taking steps closer to him until I’m standing close enough to touch him. “If you can’t give me what I deserve, then give me what I want, right now. What my body wants.” Taking one more step towards him. “Give yourself what you want.” Another step, our chests nearly touching now, looking up at him. “One more time, and then we can go back to hating each other.”

“One more time?” There’s a humorous undertone in his voice.

“Consider it closure if you want.”

“This is a horrible idea.” He lowers his voice, looking down, and I can see the fire starting in his eyes.

My hand finds its way to his chest, using him to balance myself on my toes as I elevate myself closer to eye-level. “Always was.” Breathing, waiting for him to match my move, as a sign that he wants this just as much.

His hand gripping the back of my neck and pulling me to himcauses me to squeal before his lips silence me.

“You remember something?” Liv asks.

Nodding my head. “Yeah, it’s fine. We were both pretty out of it. He probably remembers as much as I do. Maybe less because I’m sure I only remember a lot because I woke up in bed with him. You guys can go. I’m sorry you felt the need to come check on me.” Turning, I look at Low. “I know you have a class to get to.”

She hesitates, eyeing me suspiciously, and then nods her head. “Call me if you need anything?”

“Always.” Leaning over to hug her.

“I love you.” She whispers to me before glancing at Liv and standing up.

I catch them nodding at one another before Low’s out the door.

“You don’t have to stay, I don’t need a babysitter.”

“I know you don’t.” She smiles at me as she stands, walking into the kitchen. I can hear the water running for a moment before she walks back towards me. Handing me the glass of water before she rummages in her purse.

“Thanks?” I say in a questioning tone before she holds out what looks like a piece of thick paper. Taking it from her, I shake my head as I read it. “Plan B?”

“You got pregnant last time to guys were together —”

“Most likely not the last time.”
