“I see how it is, I have to be the bad guy?” She crosses her arms over her chest and raises her eyebrow.

Shit. Answer this right, Keaton.

“I will always back you up, but if the question is whether or not I’ll play with her, it’s always a yes.”

She smiles sweetly at me, and then the moment is broken when a big splash covers both of us.

We look at the pool to find Lily standing at the edge of the wading pool, her hands over her mouth, trying to hold in her giggles.

“I want to swide ova thewe!” She points to a small water slide on the other side of the kiddie pool.

“Okay, love. Be safe and I’ll watch you.” Aubrey gives her permission.

She takes two steps away, then turns back to look at me.

“Come on, Coopa.Weawe going swidin’.” She motions her hand back and forth between me and her.

“Oh right, of course, your majesty. How silly of me to not know that.” I shake my head at Aubrey, but the permanent smile on my face tells her I’m not annoyed in the slightest.

“Have fun.” She sing-songs after me.

“So much fun! Can’t wait for more fun tonight.” I toss a wink in her direction and bask in the blush on her cheeks because I definitely said that loud enough for the other people around to hear.

“Cooper!” She hisses.

I blow her a kiss before turning back to Lily and the slide she thinks that I might fit down.

Collapsing on the couch for the first time in what feels like the entire two days we’ve been here, I’m exhausted.

“How the heck do you do this every single day? By yourself?” I ask Aubrey.

We both sit silently on the couch, no TV, no music, no kid talking, nothing. It’s blissful. The only thing missing is the feel of Aubrey in my arms.

“Get over here.” I tug her into my lap so she’s straddling me.

“I’m so tired,” she says, leaning into me while I peruse her neck with my lips.

“Me too. But I need you.” I move to the other side of her neck and her head lulls back allowing me to continue.

“Do you know how great you are with her?” Her question makes me stop. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…”

“You didn’t do anything. I’m happy you think that. I’ve always wanted kids, but, you know, I’m a guy, that’s a weird thing to want right? To be a Dad? I never had dreams for anything else until I found a camera at a thrift shop.”

“I don’t think it’s weird. The world needs more men like you. And it shows that you were meant to be one.” She grasps my face in her hands, tilting my face up to hers. “I’m glad I found you. For me and for Lily. But I want you to know that if you ever can’t handle this, or me, or her, don’t stay because you feel like you have to.”

“I’d never feel that way, Aubrey.” I reach up, kissing her. Letting my hands roam down her back, grasping her ass.

“I think we should move this to the bedroom. With a door. That locks,” she suggests.

A growl emanates from deep in my throat. I don’t waste a fucking second getting her there. Ready to rip off the very small scraps of fabric she calls a pajama set. The shorts have a slit that come all up to her waist on the side for fuck’s sake. I barely made it through the night last night when she put those on, but by the time Lily fell asleep, we were both toast.

I hold her to me by her ass, my hand slipping under the shorts and I realize she’s not wearing any freaking underwear. Flicking the lock on the door, I press her up against the door with my body.

“How attached are you to these?” I ask, fingering the hem along her magnificent tits.

“I just bought them!” She squeals.

“Good. That means I can buy you another pair.” I push into her pelvis with my hips and use both hands to grip at the corner of the fabric between her cleavage. I tug hard, tearing the hem then rip it the rest of the way revealing her to me.
