“Then tell me your hesitation, Princess.” I keep touching her, running my palm up under the hem of her T-shirt. She’s so fucking soft against my calloused hand. I can’t help myself despite the fact that it would be better if I stopped pawing at her while she told me her reservations.
“I’m scared of being out of control.”
It makes sense. I may not know the details of her past, but holding on to any kind of control is paramount to survival. “It’s scary to jump into something you’re unsure of. But I swear, every time you leap into the unknown, I’ll be there on the other side, ready to catch you. I know my words aren’t enough, but let me prove it to you.”
Keeping my eyes locked on hers, I drop my mouth to the exposed slice of skin between her shirt and shorts. I kiss her from hip to hip, teasing her with my tongue as I move across her body. She shudders at the sensation, goosebumps rising on her skin.
She bites her lip and nods. “Show me, Knox.”
CHAPTER 31
Farrah
The look in Knox’s eyes would melt anyone it was directed at. I’m pretty sure I’m a puddle on the couch and I’ll never be able to get up again.
It’ll be worth it if Knox continues to look at me like that. There’s heat to be sure, but the pride and awe in his gaze are overwhelming.
He lifts himself off me, holding his hands out to help me up after. I’m only on my feet for a second before Knox is picking me up bridal-style and carrying me upstairs.
Nerves are rioting in my belly while the slow swoosh of desire stirs in my core. He competently makes his way toward his bedroom despite running his nose along the length of my neck. It’s incredible to be the sole focus of someone’s attention this way.
In the blink of an eye, he’s laying me on his dark grey comforter, surrounding me with his presence.
He gazes down at me, his brown eyes cataloging every one of my features. “Is there anything off limits?”
I open my mouth in surprise, my thoughts stuttering to a halt. “I— Umm, like what?”
“Are there places on your body you don’t want me to touch? Is there a position you don’t want to do? Anything that will trigger you? I don’t want to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, Princess, and while you don’t need to give me reasons or details, I need to know.”
A blazing memory of Alex forcing himself on me with his hand around my throat hits me hard.
“Hey, Farrah. Come back to me, sweetheart.” A soft kiss on my cheeks pulls me out of my mind and into the present. Knox’s patient gaze is on me, his thumbs swiping across my cheeks.
“My neck,” I whisper. “Don’t grab my neck.”
“Okay. Is it just my hands, or is it anything else?”
“Just your hands. I like it when you kiss me there.”
“Like this?” He leans in and presses a gentle kiss against my pulse point. “Or more like this?” He nips me with his teeth before swiping across the spot with his tongue.
I moan as the sensation sends a bolt of pleasure through my body.
Knox chuckles against my skin. “I think I have my answer.”
Gripping his hair, I pull to get him to look at me. His smug smile makes me narrow my eyes at him, but I also can’t help the mirroring smile growing on my face. “Don’t act like I’m fragile, Knox. I don’t want you to hesitate or hold yourself back because you’re worried about scaring me. I have never once been afraid of you. Not even when you were a dick.”
He softens with understanding. “As long as you promise to tell me if something triggers you, I’ll promise to give you everything.”
I nod. “I promise.”
We seal our deal with a kiss that turns dirty in a matter of moments. It’s like a checkered flag has been waved infront of us, and nothing is standing in the way of us slamming our feet on the gas pedal.
Knox’s heavy body presses me into the mattress, surrounding me in comfort and strength. I wrap my legs and arms around him. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
“Princess, I need to get you out of these clothes before I go up in flames.”
I murmur against his lips. “Mmmkay.”
