“Don’t start no more family wars tonight,” I called after him.

He waved me off. “No promises.”

Shaking my head, I pulled off. An hour later I pulled into the driveway of my two story four-bedroom house. A whole different life. As soon as I keyed in the code and opened the door, I heard the loud footsteps of my eight-year-old fraternal twins—Bishop Jr. and Ava.

They came flying toward me all energy and big smiles.

“Daaaad!” They both barreled into me, damn near knocking me back a step.

I laughed, catching them both, one arm around each of them. Coming home to my family was the highlight of my day. Every time. Didn’t matter what kind of time I just came from.

I didn’t even get a chance to speak before I was bombarded with requests.

"Dad, those new J's just came out. Can we get a pair?" BJ asked, already talking fast.

Ava looked up at me with those big eyes framed by long lashes, blinking all innocent like she wasn’t about to finesse me. "Daddy, my phone is being weird. Can we go to Apple and get a new one?"

I chuckled, shaking my head as I reached down to hug them properly, placing a kiss on each of their foreheads. “Can I get in the door good before y’all start asking for stuff?”

"Sorry," they replied in unison smiling.

"Hey, baby." My beautiful wife Eva strolled over with a kiss. "They’re harassing you already?" she laughed.

"You already know." I smirked. "They get that from you."

She ran her hand up my chest. "Well, that's what you get for taking such good care of us." She gave me another kiss and looked down at our children. "Let Daddy get settled in. Go freshen up for dinner before your auntie comes."

The twins gave me another hug before running towards their rooms

Eva turned to me with a warm smile. I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her close and placing a kiss on her neck.

"Go ahead and relax for a bit, babe," she said. "I got the twins."

"Thanks, bae." Smacking her ass lightly, I made my way upstairs, already loosening my watch and rolling my shoulders. The tension that sat in my muscles from the day was already fading. My home had a way of doing that.

By the time I stepped out of the shower I felt rejuvenated again. I threw on some designer slacks and a dress shirt, nothing too flashy. Paired it with some loafers and a Cuban link.

Two hours later I was sitting across from my wife at a candlelit table. She looked beautiful as always. Hair perfect, makeup flawless, diamonds catching the light every time she moved her hand.

I sat back slightly just watching her for a second. She was a vison. Always had been. Let her tell it she was the baddest thing in Nevada. I wouldn't argue with her. Rich honey skin, brown eyes, a face that could get her anything she wanted. Her body, which had birthed my children had filled out in all the best ways. She was all thick curves just the way I liked it.

She lifted her glass and smiled at me. "How was your day, hubby?"

I sipped my bourbon. "Business as usual, baby. Another day, another dollar."

"Speaking of another dollar—"

"Here we go," I shook my head smiling 'cause I already knew where this was going. My wife was spoiled and I couldn’t blame anyone but myself.

She looked at me with those almond eyes with her lips pouted in a way she knew worked every single time. “I did see a purse today.”

I smirked leaning back in my chair. “Of course you did.”

“It was the last one.” She reached across the table, dragging her finger slowly down my cheek.

“Uh-huh.” I nodded twice.

She leaned forward slightly, the candlelight making her eyes glow. “And it would lookamazingwith the Giuseppe heels you bought me last week.”
