“Why not?” He chuckled, and honestly, the answer escaped me for a moment until the beep of a car horn broke through the desire hazing my mind.
“Because anyone could see.”
This made him pause, not because he cared what anyone might think, but I knew he didn’t want another soul catching a glimpse of me lost in the throes of passion.
“Fine, you make a good point.” He sighed as he eased me back down to my feet, his arms wrapping around my waist to steady me. “I’d have to kill anyone who saw you like that, and it might be bad for business if my customers start mysteriously disappearing.”
“Probably.” I leaned into his warmth as he led us over to one of the stone benches.
“Thank you for bringing those.” He nodded toward the flowers I’d left at the angel’s feet.
“Of course.” I pressed my lips to his cheek, and he wrapped me up in his arms, splaying my legs over his lap. I didn’t bring flowers every time I visited, but I tried to bring a bouquet every couple of weeks.
“Why do you always have to look so delicious?” He licked his lips, his tongue piercing poking out, reminding me exactly how it felt to be devoured by Spade. I rubbed my thighs together, and he didn’t miss the movement, a smug smirk curling his mouth as mischief lit in his violet eyes.
I was supposed to be the one teasing them this time because I knew exactly what they were going to do to me during that fight. But they always managed to turn the tables on me.
“How was your class?”
“It was good.” He leaned forward, his teeth capturing my bottom lip, keeping that flame of desire raging inside me. “It would’ve been better if I had my assistant with me.”
My cheeks heated as I pressed myself closer, not caring at this point if he had me bent over in the grass in the next second. I helped Spade a few nights a week, demonstrating the moves for the others, and it always ended with the two of us racing to his office after class and him fucking me on his desk.
“Are you sure you don’t want to—” His fingers trailed up my inner thigh, but he cut himself off as I clamped my legs closed.
“I should get to the club before I go home to change.” I clambered off his lap and straightened my clothes, not wanting to seem like we were doing exactly what I was trying to avoid.
He lifted a brow in challenge, his eyes sparking with delight as they roved over my professional ensemble. Spade loved me in my normal clothes, but there was something about the professional outfits that made him want to make me disheveled. He liked it when I looked like I’d just been fucked, as if it was a way of claiming me in public.
“No.” I lifted a finger in warning and stumbled back a step as he rose from the bench like he was just issued a challenge. “Spade.”
“Sugar,” he drawled, his lithe, muscular body poised as though he was about to pounce.
What the hell was with these men today?
I crossed my arms over my chest, cocking a hip in challenge, but it didn’t deter him. He chuckled as he closed the distance and wrapped me up in his arms, my body immediately melting under his.
“You don’t want to run from me, sugar.” He nipped my nose, grinning like the smug asshole he was as I blinked away the haze.
“Why is that?” My voice quivered with desire as I rubbed my thighs together because I definitely knew what would happen.
“I’ll catch you,” he said, leaning in so his lips brushed mine with every word. “And that pretty outfit of yours will be stained with grass and dirt after I fuck you into the earth.”
I exhaled a shuddered breath, my body begging me to give in, and he knew it. His eyes sparkled with triumph as he scanned my face. Both of us knew that if he persisted, my willpower would crumble.
“I’ll see you tonight, sugar.” He pressed his lips to mine, the scorching kiss promising I wouldn’t be getting any sleep tonight before he let me go.
“Mmhmm.” I didn’t trust myself to say anything more than that as I pulled my shoulders back and strode to the car, ignoring his laughter as I climbed in like I wasn’t still trembling for his touch.
I locked the doors and stuck out my tongue, not missing the hunger that sparked in his violet depths as he stalked toward me. I put the car in reverse and sped out of the parking lot, knowing he’d get me back for that tenfold tonight. I wished I could put thecar in park and see what the two of us could get up to in my back seat instead.
Icooleddownonthedrive to the club, a plan forming as I had time to recuperate from Kellan and Spade’s teasing touches. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I slid two pairs of cuffs from the center console and slipped them into my purse.
I used my key and opened the front door before closing it behind me. The club was so different in the daylight, like the flashing neon lights and crowded dance floor added to the atmosphere.
“Hey, Lena.” I waved as she spun on her heel, her black hair twirling around her as a wide smile stretched across her face. “Is Merrick around?”
“He just went into a meeting with Sebastian, but I can tell him you’re here when he comes out if you want to wait for him in his office.” She placed down the bottle that she had just been organizing. She got a job here after she started coming to self-defense classes and learned that Merrick was a part-owner here. It helped that she knew she had people here whom she could trust. Even Eve worked here on fight nights since the bar was under renovation right now.
