“Sensible.”

“I am, sometimes. Not often.”

I chuckle and stroke my jaw. “I think you’re more sensible than you give yourself credit for.”

I roll my eyes. “I dunno. I’m thousands of miles away from home, realizing I’m a boy and that Ineeda Daddy, all while falling for a guy I’ve only just met. I’m hopeless.”

“If you are, so am I.” He cups my jaw. “I’m falling for you too.”

“This is starting to feel like a real-life princess movie.”

“Is that a problem?”

I shrug. “It is when we live so far apart.” I gaze into his eyes. “Is this real? Or just lust?”

Emmet purses his lips. “The last couple of days have been pretty intense, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Delay your flight until the weekend. I’ll pay any fees you might incur.”

“You don’t have to do that, Daddy.”

“I want to.” He winces. “Only Ican’ttake the week off. But we’d still have every evening together.”

I smirk. “And every night.”

He kisses me tenderly. “Yes, baby. We’d have every night.”

“Say I can delay my flight until the weekend, and we spend an amazing week together—what then? I’ll still have to go home, and then I’ll miss you even more.”

“It’s not like I’d never see you again. I come to the UK once a month. Sometimes more. And the internet exists. Video calls exist.” He kisses my jaw between every statement. “Video and phone sex is a thing.” He tickles me, making me laugh and softening the tension in my limbs. “If it’s meant to be, we could make it work.”

“That’s something a fairytale prince would say.”

He brushes his thumb over my lips. “I’m not a fairytale prince.”

“No?”

He smiles. “No. I’m a fairytale Daddy.” He kisses me. “Your friends… They figured out pretty quickly that it was meant to be.”

“True…”

“They seem really happy.”

I smile. “Yeah, they do.”

“What do you feel here?” He presses his palm over my heart.

“That you’re the most amazing guy I’ve ever met. You make me feel safe and alive. You make my toes curl. It hurts to think about going home tomorrow. And that’s not just because I’m terrified of flying.”

He chuckles.

“How do you feel, Daddy?”

“That I don’t want to let you go.”

I don’t want him to let me go.

“I’m not suggesting we should get married, just that we shouldn’t give up on what could be because we live in different countries. I’d like to see if this spark could grow into something more, don’t you?”

“If only it were that simple.”
